If you research this model you will find the tray is sensitive to being level. If not level or past level (tilted slightly down) the tray will extend and then immediately retract. That is the way the units were built, but the good news is it’s easy to fix if it should become a problem. I have used the unit personally in setups in a couple different locations and once it worked fine and once I had to prop up the back legs with a piece of paper folded a few times to level the unit and it worked like a charm.
