Pioneer CT-200 STEREO CASSETTE DECK turns on but heads do not rotate.

The CT-200 is a great looking and brilliant sounding classic cassette deck with fantastic backlit analogue VU meters. Its beautifully engineered, with quality electrical components, oversize solenoids, an unusually large and heavy capstan flywheel (to minimize wow and flutter) - it is clearly built to last! It has Dolby B noise reduction, stereo microphone inputs and a fixed-level headphone output on the front panel, and the usual L/R RCA (phono) line level connections on the rear via a set of built-in cables. This deck has been serviced, including replacing all the drive belts with brand new parts, sourced from a specialist supplier (there are three in total), cleaning the switches and potentiometers, and testing and cleaning the internal electrical contacts. The cassette mechanism has been stripped down, lubricated, reassembled, aligned and tested. The electrical alignment has been checked, using a test cassette, oscilloscope, signal generator and external level meters. This process covers the recording levels, playback levels, meter calibration, bias and tape speed. It has been inspected for electrical safety and put through a full PAT test, in line with current guidance. It will be supplied with a modern mains plug, and is fitted with the appropriate 3A fuse. The tape transport has been cleaned and demagnetised. All rubber parts have been cleaned and treated with Rubber Renue, which restores them to their original specification and performance. This deck is cosmetically excellent for its age. The fascia and level meters look great, with only minor signs of use. The lid is scratch-free and in great condition. Overall, it is a testament to the care taken by its previous owner – it looks and sounds fantastic and is a pleasure to use. Please take a close look at the pictures. A printed copy of the original instruction manual is included and is in excellent condition. Shipping will be by next day courier.
