Description
RARE Pioneer Stereo Amplifier A-27 Class AB RefurbishedVery rare, and HIGHLY sought after. Last picture is of the components that were professionally replaced in this amplifier.Item will be packed carefully. This is a 60LB amplifier, so shipping is expensive.Any questions, or need additional pictures, I will do my best! Pioneer A-27 is part of the elite group of ultimate amplifiers. It is in excellent condition, very clean face, door and case. This amplifier has one of the nicest sounding integratedamplifiers that you could listen: a very smooth, clean and transparentsound. Exclusive and Very Rare A-27 IntegratedAmplifier was the most expensive component in the Series 20 line.Pioneer clearly intended to incorporate much of the circuit design fromthe M-type amplifiers, but have a greater degree of control than theC-21 pre-amp. It used the Magni-Wide DC power amplifier section, butalso used a total of three other all-DC-configured amplifier stages: aDC phono equalizer amp, a DC flat amp and DC head amp for Moving Coil(MC) type phono cartridges. Like the M-25, the A-27 used RET transistors in theoutput stage. The connoisseurs know what I mean. Pioneer spared no expense for top of the linecomponents. The A-27 used two large power supply transformers, one for each channel, and fourelectrolytic capacitors. The A-27 was rated at 120 watts per channelinto 8 ohms. The A-27 entire frequency response ranged from 5 Hz to 200kHz. Plus very well balanced looks oscillating between massive andtransparent. I regard Pioneers A-27 as part of the elite group of ultimate vintage amplifiers. That (personal) elite group is made of very few units : Yamaha B-1, Sony TA-E88B & TA-N7, Kenwood Model 700C & Model 700M and Luxman C-5000A & M-4000a.I dont mention the Pioneer M-22 or M-25 since the A-0012 is largely based on the latter. The A-0012 is in fact an expanded C-21 and M-25 put together :Magni-Wide circuit, Class A/B output stage with RET transistors, DC everywhere, 200Khz bandwidth, a 32-step attenuator, vanishingly low distortion, two power transformers and selected componentry.
