Two Philips personal cassette players, one in the Moving Sound range (D6616) and one in the Magnavox range (unknown model due to info label having been torn off). The latter incorporates a radio and bass boost, whilst the D6616 has a graphic equaliser. Both tested with a cassette and seemed to play okay, although possibly the heads could do with a clean on the Magnavox (it didnt sound as crisp as the D6616 to me). Some crackle when changing volume, but the sound is otherwise fine. Both bass boost and the equaliser work. Fast forward and rewind work (no rewind on the D6616). Radio works on the Magnavox. Both take AA batteries. No headphones. The D6616 is in good cosmetic condition. The Magnavox is in average condition, showing signs of use.

Item Details A retro collectible portable stereo cassette player here. It was cleared out of a dry loft. It was not wanted anymore. I bought it to sell on. Personally, I know a lot about such items. Please see photos for a good idea of condition. The case is faded due to sunlight over the years. Everything else seems good. It would clean up better.. I just gave it a quick wipe. I powered this cassette player up and it powers on fine. I tried the radio with the aerial and that works fine. I then tried to play a tae and the tape plays perfectly fine. All the tapes functions work fine. There is a problem related to the tape deck though.. When you play a tape the tape plays but the music is dull and distant. If you tap the cassette player the music goes to being louder and how it should be. There is a loose connection of some kind.. I have no idea of the exact problems or how to fix it. Philips Retro Boombox. This ghettoblaster has been built in 1985. Stylish yellow color is the rarest one. There are few silver models in the market,but I found only one from the yellow apart from my one. Speakers are good and loud. Unfortunately the second cassette players door is broken, therefore the 2nd player doesnt plays the cassette. Even it is spining, and the counter is moving, the tape doesnt plays the cassette. Unfortunately I do not have the missing part. I am good at fixing but do not want to take the risk to make bigger harm on the player as it is right now. It can be a great project to a collector or mechanic person. It has its original Philips strap. I am advertising it for 350 , but at the same time I am open to offers. I am working in a busy and unpredictable environment, and even if I would like to post my sold items on the next day it can take sometimes up to 3 or 4 days.

Listed as Spares or repair as I dont have headphones to test output. Cassette player doesnt work but sounds like it wants to, so I think the belt has gone (should be easy to replace). The radio lights up when switched on and all controls appear to work. It still has its original belt clip which is detachable. The battery compartment is clean with no signs of corrosion. Generally in good condition cosmetically, but does have signs of use and ware. Please see photographs for exact condition. Please ask any questions.

The volume wheel needs to be cleand or fixed because when increasing the sound the sound becomes MONO instead of STEREO. It uses 2 AA batteries of 1.5V which are not included. Philips Moving sound radio cassette player Selling as spares, repair or decoration Theres a few technical issues with it as follows: Both cassette decks work and play tapes, the sound output is faulty, when you turn the volume knob it crackles, however it does turn the volume up. The radio dial isnt working therefore its unable to tune in the radio, it seems like the dial is disconnected inside the unit and stopping it from tuning, the tuning dial on the front display doesnt move across. the aerial has been broken off at some point, however the fixing point is still ok.
