Der Philips kam 1972 als Nachfolger des ehemaligen Spitzenmodells GA-202 auf den Markt - wie dieser ein manuell zu betreibender Plattenspieler mit automatischer Endabschaltung. Aufwändiger Riemenantrieb mit elektronischer Servo-Regelung und laufruhigem Gleichstrommotor. Plattenteller und Tonarm sind zur Entkopplung auf einem stabilen Stahl-Subchassis federnd gelagert. Zarge in nußbaum mit Aluminium-Seitenteilen. Geschwindigkeitsfeineinstellung +/- 3% für 33 und 45 getrennt, Bedienung über Sensortasten, berührungslose optische Endabschaltung. Montiert ist ein Audio Technica AT-3600 Moving Magnet System - neu und nur wenige Stunden gelaufen. Anschluß über nachgerüstete Cinch-Stecker und ein separates Massekabel. Technische Daten: Gleichlaufschwankungen (WRMS) 0,09%, Rumpelgeräuschspannungsabstand 62 dB. Effektive Tonarmlänge 215 mm bei 16,5 g effektiver Masse, Plattentellerdurchmesser 29 cm, Abmessungen 39 x 33 x 15 cm (BxTxH). Technisch ist das Gerät in Ordnung, läuft zuverlässig und klingt prima. Der Plattenspieler ist auch optisch noch recht gut erhalten, weist aber Mängel auf: auf dem Chassis und dem Topboard finden sich Verätzungen durch den originalen Antriebsriemen, der sich zersetzt hatte. Die Kunststoffabdeckung des Tonarmrahmens hat einen geklebten Riss, die Haube weist die typischen Altersspuren und Kratzer auf und der Geräteboden hat sich modelltpisch etwas verzogen. Note: The ON/OFF switch is a bit sticky. If in the ON position one will have to depress the button and let it flick upward so it extends all the way into the OFF position. And vice-versa, when in the OFF position if the button isnt fully extended up into the OFF position you will have to let it flick up all the way and then depress it so it so the catch fully disengages and then engages in the ON position. An experienced audiophile will probably be able to clean the switch so it operates easily with little effort. Please feel free to ask questions if this explanation isnt clear. Philips Electronic GA212 record deck in very nice working condition. The turntable revolves and all the speed function buttons light as normal and the tone arm lift works fine. Apparently the onoff switch on these decks are frequently broken but this one still works fine. There is the DIN outlet cable which has the optional phono converter aswell for more modern amp connections. The raising cover is in pretty good condition with only a few light scuffs and the main body is the same overall--very good. Included is a spare stylus, and a record cleaner arm is attached. Please use the photos as further info as they are of the actual deck , as Im not up on othr details like cartridges etc. I dont think this sort of item would travel at all well on carrier so it needs to be collection only from Sutton in Norfolk. Unfortunately I dont have a system to listen to the sound out of this anymore but it functions as it should so i see no reason for any change since I last used it.
