Der „Robin Hood“ ist ein Plattenspieler der Pear Audio Blue Serie, ausgestattet mit einem zweilagigen Sockel aus dem Holz der Baltischen Birke. Das Naturmaterial wird in bestmöglicher Weise bearbeitet und bietet daher akustische Eigenschaften weit jenseits herkömmlicher, nur optisch ähnlicher Holz-Sockelplatten. Das Gerät besitzt den gleichen Motor mit niedrigem Drehmoment wie das Top-Modell „Kid Thomas“. Es wird standardmäßig in einem glänzenden Natur-Finish geliefert. Der Robin Hood wurde mit dem Cornet 1 Tonarm kombiniert. Das ist ein 1-Punkt gelagerter Arm mit einem speziellen Anti-Skating. Der Sage nach waren der verstorbene Chef und Entwickler Tom Fletcher von Nottingham Analogue und Peter Mezek, der Mastermind hinter Pear Audio bestens befreundet. Die Entwicklung, zumindest der Tonarme, waren ein letztes Geschenk an Peter Mezek. Der Spirit der beiden Marken ist dadurch verbunden. Ich bin Erstbesitzer. Von den 6 Jahren hat er aus privaten Gründen 3 Jahre nur abgedeckt rumgestanden bis ich ihn 2023 wieder ausgemottet habe. Im Spätherbst 2023 habe ich bei Project Akustik die Nadel unterm Mikroskop angucken und reinigen lassen und die LAST Serie für den Tonabnehmer und Schallplatten zur Pflege eben dort erworben. Peter Mezek hat mir einen neuen Antriebsriemen zugeschickt, den ich nur auf Verdacht bestellt hatte, der derzeit aber noch gar nicht gebraucht wird. Von den 3 Jahren in Betrieb hat er auch nur ab und an am Wochenende gedreht, so daß ich sagen kann, daß er nur 500 Stunden gespielt hat und sich in einem erstklassigen Zustand in jeglicher Hinsicht befindet. Der Tonabnehmer ist das immer wieder hervorragend getestete Benz Micro ACE L, low output mit 0,4V.Er kann über Chinch oder XLR angeschlossen werden. Ich habe ihn symmetrisch betrieben, weil es mit meiner Phonovorstufe so noch dynamischer lief. Ich kann das nur empfehlen, da MCs per se symmetrisch sind. Gekauft wurde er von mir in Hamburg im Isenberg Audio Terminstudio. Rechnuing, Originalverpackung ist alles vorhanden und das schwarze Sideboard auf dem er trohnt, gebe ich mit! These two remarkable pieces by Zoethecus have been set up in the same location for over a decade and they look brand new… The unique method of isolating each shelf from each other and then isolating the rack from the floor is quite simple and very effective. The beautiful Pear wood has taken on a bit of amber and shows well… The combination of brushed aluminum and black combined with the pear wood is a wonderful look. I have the matching Amp stands should someone want additional furniture for large subwoofers or mono-blocks. My hope is someone close to Tallahassee might be enamored with these as I have been because I see no way to break them down completely and shipping both would be cost prohibitive (I think) not to mention risky.
