This is a Pioneer CD Player from 1991It is in perfect working condition; and good cosmetic condition. The face has just a couple of scratches on the cd tray/drawer. I repainted the metal case/cover; it looks very good (not quite factory-perfect, but very good).I received this player in non-working condition. All it needed was what almost all older Pioneer CD players need: The laser pickup lenses had fallen out due to the terrible original glue Pioneer used. I replaced it and fixed/bonded it with proper plastic model cement. I also checked and tweaked the laser focus and tracking gains. This player has very nice internal adjustments that are easily accessible (they really will never ever need to be adjusted again). The RF patter of the laser is clear/open and strong (at about 1.0v p-p, which is within original spec). I also removed the old grease from the mechanism and re-lubed with lithium grease. The player plays all stamped CDs (obviously) and all CD-Rs I had, both high quality JVC and much lower quality ones. I should also add that this player plays the Digital Recordings CD Check Disk through level 4 with no faults/clicks/noises. That is really good (above average). I have repaired and tested more than ~60 cd players, and most play that disk to level 3 (some 4, some 2, none to 5). Its not the end-all measure of a CD player, but says something about its error correction abilities. It does NOT come with a remote.I do not have the original box, but it will be well packaged for shipping (as all of my items are).will be shipped by Fedex Ground
