There is a piece of clear plastic tubing over the lift arm, probably original protective packing. I left it alone. Weight is 14 grams without stylus. In any event, if you do, get yourself the small red bottle of DeTox it looks like a nail polish bottle, gently lubricate the legs of the tube you dont need much. This gives the tube lubrication to go into the socket it is good for the socket also.
