OPPO BPD-105D (Darbee Edition) Blu-ray Player in Excellent Condition! When this unit was originally released it was considered by many people to be the single best Blu-ray player on the market. And with only one exception (the newer, subsequent, and now out of production BDP-205) it probably still is. Particularly with the unique and separately acquired firmware upgrade this one has. This player has custom jailbreak firmware, stored on a USB drive which is plugged into the back of the unit, which allows it do many things a standard version of this unit will not! Most Importantly: 1) It can play Blu-ray and DVD discs from ANY Region in the world. For example it can play Region B encoded discs which are intended only for playback in England and Europe! This allows you to purchase and playback movie titles that are unavailable here in the United States. 2) It can play back ISO files either from portable media (via USB) or from a network source (via SMB). With a little technical expertise, this allows you to set up your own movie storage library without the need to have every Blu-ray / DVD disc on hand! 3) It can play back ISO files that have Cineavia encryption without having to have the actual disc inserted into the player. These are ALL things that normal Blu-ray players cannot do because of various restrictions that are placed upon the Blu-ray player manufacturers. The other great feature of this unit is the Darbee Visual Enhancement technology, indicted by the D at the end of the model number. This is truly incredible technology which allows you to sharpen up the image quality of less-than-optimal discs. Older DVDs and Blu-rays spring to life with new clarity and contrast when using this feature - which is completely adjustable. Last but not least is the incredible audio section of this unit. It is far superior to the Oppo BDP-103 unit, utilizing the very best DAC chips to produce a truly stunning audio experience. CDs come to life with previously unheard of detail and clarity. The upgraded audio section was one of the major selling points of this particular deck - and the reason for its considerably higher price compared to its much lower cost sister unit. I could go on and on about all the incredible features of this unit, but if youre looking at one of these, you probably already know what its capable of. This is a truly unique piece of audio/visual equipment. And with the custom firmware installed it represents an extremely rare opportunity for the right buyer to own one of the greatest pieces of audio/video ever made. Oppo BDP-105D Jailbroken ISO Region Free Immaculate Condition Authorized Dealer! I own CIR-Engineering, and back in the day I was an authorized Oppo dealer and repair center. This player is a lightly used demo unit that lived in my theater showroom. I independently purchased the jailbreak firmware for the unit outside of Oppo. The 105D is still considered the very best audio disc player ever made, and with the jailbreak feature it can playback ISO files (local or network) of all audio and video disc types as well as the discs themselves (of course not including HD-DVD). The jailbreak also allows for region free playback and the removal of Cinavia copy protection. Removal of Cinavia allows for the playback without interruption of any copied BD or 3D-BD disc or ISO file. This player is in absolutely immaculate condition and is easily rated at 9.5/10 (I never rate open box 10/10). Included in this listing is the box, all original packaging, remote, WiFi adapter (and extender), power cord, and of course the player itself. Naturally the player works flawlessly and I went over it inside and out (I was authorized repair remember). There is a small USB drive in the back of the player (see photo) that is included as well. This drive must remain in the player at all times for the jailbreak feature to work. When you purchase the player, I will email you a link to download a backup copy of the jailbreak files.
