Used Onkyo TX-NR686 AVR (2018 model). Onkyo has a pretty good reputation for giving a lot of bang for your buck, and this receiver is no exception. Its not too easy to find receivers with this level of versatility without totally sacrificing quality, but Ive been really impressed with the balance this system achieves. My turntable sounds phenomenal when piped through this receiver (I set a custom EQ adjustment tailored for vinyl—and which sounds great with other inputs—that you can keep or reset/adjust as you see fit). The 384 kHz/32-bit DAC is incredible, even though I rarely played anything fully pushing that capability (a spec which 90-some percent of users will never need to have that high, but Ill still miss it). The receiver will come with the original remote, two wireless antennas, the FM antenna, the AM antenna, the manual, and the speaker setup mic. For another $20, a full 5.1 speaker system is also available with local pickup (photos available upon request!). If its so great, why am I selling it? Well to be up-front, it does have one issue that should not be a problem for 99% users, yet is a huge problem with my specific setup. For all the impressive performance of Onkyo for a budget brand, theyre also known for sometimes having wonky HDMI boards. I have *never had any issues* with the HDMI connections with any conventional device (Ive used it with an Xbox 1 S, an Xbox Series X, a Blu-ray player, a Samsung TV, an LG TV, a desktop PC, and a laptop). But for some reason, the only problem Ive had is with my current desktop setup, which runs from another room through an HDMI cord connected to another 50ft HDMI extension cord. Bizarrely, it will only communicate with this receiver if its plugged into the front AUX HDMI port, and a couple times a week it will do this thing where it drops the desktops HDMI signal for a second before it comes back on, which continues happening roughly every ten seconds or so until I turn it off and and leave it for a while (its not overheating, and the physical connection is fine). It wouldnt be that big of a deal... if the PC didnt account for around 70% of my receiver usage. But to be clear, this only happens with my unique desktop setup. Ive thoroughly tested everything, and no other device ever has this issue, so unless you plan on running a 50ft HDMI extension setup from a computer, you should have zero problems with this phenomenal receiver (and I will gladly accept a return if I somehow end up mistaken).
