The tape deck was completely checked over. Replaced the capstan drive tire.Checked all the functions for Play/Record/FF/Rewind. All work exceptionally great. This tape deck utilizes two motors: Main motor is direct drive for the tape and there is a separate motor for capstan take-up reel, FF and rewind.The tape counter works as a timer and counter. The unit looks great and sounds excellent!!!

This item is a Pre-owned Onkyo Integra TA-2058 Cassette Deck. Unit is working but seems to stop playing after playing a cassette for a few songs. It Rewinds/FF/Pause without issue from what testing I did. The cassettes used were rather old and I cant really say they are good examples but all I had. Unit cosmetically looks good. Only a few scratches on top and edge of face on left side. This unit is being sold for Repair/Parts, and I am solidly accepting no refunds. From searching other units with same issue it appears its often a melted/broken belt. Opened the cover up and confirmed that is the issue (see last picture). This unit is in overall good condition with some very light scuffs and scratches. The fast forward and reverse work. The metering works, and all lights work. I removed the top case to figure out what the issue was, and it turned out that the capstan belt had melted. I don’t have the time to replace it right now, so it is being listed for parts.
