The good: - This unit plays tapes and records them, and the audio does play crisp and clean.- I have not observed it eating any tapes, and I have cleaned the tape path (heads, capstan, pinch roller).- The 2-color meter (greenish-blue and red) are pleasant to look at. The not-so-good: - The speed is just the tiniest bit on the slow side. Some people might not even notice. I was playing a Beatles tape I had made on another deck, and it sounded a little on the lazy side, but not terrible.- When you power the unit on, sometimes it makes a squealing noise for several seconds, and then goes away. This was the worst mistake I ever made. I purchased an Onkyo Cassette Deck TA-2017. This I believe is the entry level one. I took the cover of and it was completely full of rust. The internal circuitry looked okay and that is what Im selling as seen in photos. I turned on the unit and heard a loud buzzing sound. This was the only test I did. If these items have not sold by Auction within the time span of the Auction I will cancel Auction and place items in recycling. Parts include Motherboard / Tape cassette transport complete part including door cover and door frame etc. switches / transformer / buttons level etc / power switch lever & power switch attached / Front panel and inner front panel.
