Hello, I have for sale a Brilliant separates system. The Onkyo PRSC5530 AV Preamplifier mated with a NakamichI AVP1 7ch power amplifier. I sold another one of these Preamps back in June 2023, and below is how I described it. I have seen these come up for sale every now and again, but non of the sellers has ever bothered to explain the capabilities of this terrific Preamp. Recently, I had the unique opportunity of having this Onkyo PRSC 5530, a Marantz AV8802a and a Yamaha CXA5200 in my house at the same time! The Yamaha in my opinion came third in my listening tests. The Marantz AV8802a came 1st with this Onkyo hot on its heels in a close second. Second only because the Onkyo does not decode DTS X natively (uses Dolby Surround or THX Cinema ) . Onkyo in all its wisdom at the time, refused to push out the update and instead chose to include it in the model that replaced this one ( RZ5100 ). Even though the Marantz won the shootout by a little margin, its bass capability was NOWHERE near the bass output of the 5530!! I mean DEEP, TIGHT, TAUT bass. This bass output is due to a unique Onkyo technology ( Phase Matching Bass ). Set this to ON and sit back as long as you have capable speakers. Onkyo in my opinion designed this to be used with large speakers, especially front/rear floorstanders! Hence why a lower crossover point is needed to get that full bodied sound, with tremendous dynamic range! The Onkyo also was better with placing special effects in 3d space, and THX Cinema? Phenomenal at times. But as good as THX Cinema is, it pales in comparison to its Atmos capability. Better than both the Marantz and Yamaha. I have this hooked up to an XPA 5, and another 7 channel amp for the 4 heights. So ensure you have a decent power amp. This has had moderate use and the front display is bright with no visible fading. If you are after the ULTIMATE in sound quality, you cannot do better than a separates set up. Dont believe a word you just read? Come on down. The remote control you see in the photo was taken out of its wrapper recently as a universal one had been in use. I am offering this Onkyo Preamp with a 60 day warranty. If it develops a fault within 60 days of purchase, get in touch and well arrange a return. ( You only get 30 days with Peter Tyson ) This warranty applies to UK buyers only. Also for sale is a Brilliant Nakamichi 7CH power amp. This is rated at 110w/CH all channels driven. If only two channels are driven, then the power output increases to 150W/CH into 8ohms.. The amp was manufactured in 2013, sold in 2015 and has only been used to run 4 height speakers ( meaning its been very under utilised ). This same amp was rebadged in 2015 from Nakamichi AVP1 to IOTA VX AVP1 ( RRP £1399 with AV.COM ) Due to the COLLOSAL WEIGHT ( 35kg ) of the poweramp, this will need to be collected as shipping will involve some serious DIY where I would have to construct suitable boxes both can travel in.
