Per classicreceivers.com, Onkyo TX-2500 is the MK II version of TX 2500 which does differ slightly from the regular TX-2500: Onkyo’s TX-2500 is listed at 27 watts per channel while the Tx-2500 MK II is listed at 40 watts per channel. Of course, the late 70’s were the height of the receiver wars where each manufacturer was trying to outdo the other with more watts per channel and other features. This is probably why Onkyo decided to up the ante with the power output. Total harmonic distortion was lowered as well from 0.5% to 0.1%. Vintage Onkyo everything works on it there are some scratches and scuffs, all lights work and antenna is intact. Only thing that I have found bad on it is the tuner pointer that shows you what station it is on, it is missing and was like that when I purchased it sometime ago.

This great looking stereo is in good physical shape. I powered it up and quickly tuned in a radio Station. No further testing done.

A great example of a one owner survivor. it is perfect in every way except the external antenna which was broken off and the wires cut but can be repaired. other than that almost flawless. puts out 40 watts per channel and has a phono input as well.
