Note: In order to be in compliance with Ebay rules and to prevent unintentional keyword spamming, we have placed asterisks * in the historical information below so that we can include this information in this listing. Thank you! This sale is for a Japan Radio NRD-535 that is in average overall cosmetic condition. In looking at our pictures, you will see a number of marks from previous ownership and these can be seen mostly on the covers. If the new owner desires, these covers could be repainted. Please look at the variety of pictures at the top of this listing to confirm the condition and to use as part of our verbal description. Operationally, the receiver works well with excellent sensitivity and no known operational issues. The buyer of the NRD-535 will receive: AC power cord copy of the owners manual copy of the service manual in 3 ring binder copy of the sales brochure Passport Whitepaper JRC NRD-535D Proceedings Newsletter review - Bob Evans JRC NRD-535D receiver as a Medium-Wave Receiver review WRTH review - 1992 (World Radio & Television Handbook) Passport review - 1992 (Passport to World Band Radio) Passport review - 1993 (retested) Passport review - 1997 Medium Wave Circle review QST review - May 1997 Drake R8 and The JRC NRD-535D Proceedings newsletter review NRD Notes (scarce newsletter of mods & other info) - Issue No. One 1993 Gilfer Radio catalog page 1991 Gilfer Radio catalog page 1993 Universal Radio catalog page 1993 WRTH advertisement copy 1991 WRTH advertisement copy 1996 Finally, included is a CD containing much of the documentation above plus service notes, mods, computer command software, etc, etc.. This CD is not for sale separately, but is given freely and included with this NRD-535. These documents will help to make the owner aware of features, operation and give service diagnostics and repair tools should they ever be required. However, these JRC receivers are well built and the likelihood for that is minimal. In 1977, Japan Radio Co. had introduced its first radio into the consumer market for shortwave enthusiasts. JRC had a long history of manufacturing commercial and military equipment and now began its foray in a highly competitive market dominated by such names as C*ollins and D*rake. On the initial model the NRD*505, Japan Radio reportedly made less than 1,000 units and this receiver broke new ground for enthusiasts with its high construction standards and precise digital readout. Cost of this receiver was over $2,200 which was a tidy sum of money in the 70s. This receiver was followed by other highly acclaimed models such as the NRD*515 and NRD*525 and JRC showed its inclination to listen to the market...building on its successes and offering new features with each new model. Then in 1991, JRC introduced the NRD-535 model to a welcome marketplace. This model continued on the success of previous models and offered even more features for about the same price as previous models. There are loads of other features on the standard NRD-535 such as: Triple Conversion Superheterodyne that provides superb sensitivity and image rejection Reception of AM - SSB - CW - FAX - FM - RTTY modes Sensitivity of less than .1 uV on SSB from 1.6 to 30 mhz Timer and recording output that allows the user to control the receiver when absent to record programs on cassette or on the computer. 24 Hour Clock BFO Notch Filter - attenuates up to -40db and allows offending interference to be nulled without needing to select a narrower bandwidth and losing fidelity. Dual Noise Blankers - helps to get rid of both woodpecker and interference from auto ignition systems and other similar interference sources 200 Memory Channels & Scan - A sophisticated 200 channel non-volatile scanning memory stores frequency, mode, AGC, ATT and IF filter selection. Channels can be scanned at a user-defined rate (.5 to 5 seconds/channel). Sweep reception can be adjusted from .05 to .5 seconds/step. PBS- Passband tuning that allows the adjustment of + or - 1khz without needing to change bandwidths AGC - Fast, Slow or Off positions Tone Control for altering the sound for listener preference Dimmer - 4 positions to change the dial brightness so that the 535 can be adjusted for viewing environment & listener preferences RS-232 Port - To allow the receiver to be operated using a PC. The receiver does not come with the connecting cable or operating software, but there are several sources for these items. Modular Design to facilitate service Ext Speaker Jack - While the speaker on the 535 is better than many communications receivers, attaching an external speaker like an inexpensive Radio Shack optimus or a Sounds Sweet speaker will greatly enhance listening to shortwave programs. Dial Lock RF Gain The JRC-535 series receiver has been highly acclaimed by a number of noteworthy sources. In his book, Shortwave Receivers Past and Present, Fred Osterman calls this an outstanding general coverage receiver. In the 1998 edition of Passport To World Band Radio, it is written that the 535 is one of the best and quietest DX receivers ever tested. The NRD-535 won the 1991 World Radio TV Handbook Industry Award for the Best Communications Receiver and Passport listed it as a Passports Choice for outstanding receiver and value. Note: In order to be in compliance with Ebay rules and to prevent unintentional keyword spamming, we have placed asterisks * in the historical information below so that we can include this information in this listing. Thank you! This sale is for a Japan Radio NRD-535D that is used and shows only minor marks from prior ownership. The covers to these 535Ds were easily scratched, but the covers on this particular unit are in excellent condition and the receiver should appeal to someone wanting a nicer cosmetic unit. We ask that you please look at the variety of pictures at the top of this listing to confirm the cosmetic condition and to use as part of our verbal description. Operationally, the receiver has been fully tested and works well with excellent sensitivity and no known issues. Please note that we fully test all the equipment that passes through our hands. Of these 535Ds, five of the last eight to pass through our hands had issues requiring some attention. One was missing the ECSS board entirely and three other receivers had an ECSS board that was so far out of alignment that it would not lock on the signal.... including this unit. We aligned the ECSS and it now works perfectly and locks on the signal without needing to tune slightly off frequency to obtain lock. The display is very bright and we assume that based on lack of wear to the keypad and the strong display illumination that this receiver has received only modest operational time. Serial of 57895 designates that this unit is a later manufacture. Please look at the information below on the CFL-243 board as it has expanded capability in later serial units. This particular 535 comes with the D package including the extra 1000 Hz filter, ECSS board and bandwidth control board. In addition to the NRD-535D, the buyer will receive: AC power copy of the user manual copy of the service manual copy of the sales brochure Passport Whitepaper AM Synchronous Detection Tutorial paper JRC NRD-535D Proceedings Newsletter review - Bob Evans JRC NRD-535D receiver as a Medium-Wave Receiver review WRTH review - 1992 (World Radio & Television Handbook) Passport review - 1992 (Passport to World Band Radio) Passport review - 1993 (retested) Passport review - 1997 Medium Wave Circle review QST review - May 1997 Drake R8 and The JRC NRD-535D Proceedings newsletter review NRD Notes (scarce newsletter of mods & other info) - Issue No. One 1993 Gilfer Radio catalog page 1995-96 Gilfer Radio catalog page 1991 Gilfer Radio catalog page 1993 Universal Radio catalog page 1993 WRTH advertisement copy 1991 WRTH advertisement copy 1996 Finally, included is a CD containing much of the documentation above plus service notes, mods, computer command software, promotional materials, reviews, etc. This CD is not for sale separately, but is given freely and included with this NRD-535D and contains 514 MB of files. Then in 1991, JRC introduced the NRD-535 model to a welcome marketplace. This model continued on the success of previous models and offered even more features for about the same price as previous models. However accessories continued to mushroom with this model, and later in the production cycle, JRC introduced the NRD-535D version that incorporated several desired options packaged from the factory for an additional $400 and intended to save some money for enthusiasts who were inclined to purchase these upgrade options. The features of the 535D over the basic 535 were: 1. CFL-243 - This feature allowed for adjustment of the bandwidths that were formerly locked in at 4 and 2 KHz. Now operators could adjust this control to narrow the 2 kHz filter or the 4 kHz filter in 10 Hz steps without varying its center frequency, ensuring effective interference rejection when in AM mode. This control only functions in the AM mode in early receivers, but after serial 56005 this feature also worked on SSB. Since this unit is a later serial of 57895, it offers the more powerful version of this feature. This feature is especially helpful on shortwave where it helps to establish better immunity against side channel interference. 2. CMF-78 - Perhaps the most exciting feature in the NRD-535D is the CMF-78 Exalted Carrier Selectable Sideband (ECSS) circuit. Often when receiving an AM signal you will encounter interference from an adjacent station. The interference will manifest itself on either the upper or lower sideband of the signal you are trying to hear. The ECSS feature will select the sideband that is not affected and deliver the signal to you with high tonal quality. 3. CFL-233 - This feature adds another filter at 1000 KHz for the user and is popular with RTTY (radio teletype) listeners as it gives the appropriate filter to hear and decode these signals or for CW or very narrow sideband. 24 Hour Clock BFO Notch Filter - attenuates up to -40 dB and allows offending interference to be nulled without needing to select a narrower bandwidth and losing fidelity. Channels can be scanned at a user-defined rate (.5 to 5 seconds/channel). Sweep reception can be adjusted from .05 to .5 seconds/step. PBS- Passband tuning that allows the adjustment of + or - 1 KHz without needing to change bandwidths AGC - Fast, Slow or Off positions Tone Control for altering the sound for listener preference Dimmer - 4 positions to change the dial brightness so that the 535D can be adjusted for viewing environment & listener preferences RS-232 Port - To allow the receiver to be operated using a PC. The receiver does not come with the connecting cable or operating software, but there are several sources for these items. An exceptional receiver for snaring tough DX signals, notably in the D version, with the best ergonomics weve come across in a tabletop model. READ CAREFULLY PLEASE BEFORE BUYING !! The minimum value to sell from this area is US/28 + shipping, otherwise we would lose money, I hope you understand me and support our store. Dear Sirs. Respectfully take into account Fees, logistics, packaging and shipping of the product are included in my price, which are equivalent to a good percentage of the published price. Features and further details Additional Features: Details? commodity explanation ?JRC Japan Radio is a world-class receiver, and it is the highest peak NRD-95 type receiver of JRCs NRD-9X series that you can rarely see. This receiver is a remote control receiver set that meets the needs of land radio stations that require remote control. Of course, since it is a made-to-order product, the number of production units is small, making it a difficult item to obtain. This product is a type that can be operated remotely, so it comes with a telecontroller NCG-95 etc. Although there are occasional exhibitions of single items, NRD-95 receivers without telecontrollers are not in the realm of NRD-93 receivers. A teleconverter is a must.In addition, spare parts and extension boards are also available for easy maintenance, and the NRD-95 comes with a special speaker and headphones with JRC gold printing, so everything other than the antenna is included, so you can immediately receive excellent reception. I think you can enjoy life even remotely. There is no particular problem with receiving operations or functional operations. I dont think its inferior to other 93 receivers I own. SUNSPOT seems to be rising, and there are quite a few overseas signals. However, it has not been properly tested with a measuring instrument, so please refrain from bidding if you are concerned. There are often people who put in the SG signal and talk about the deflection of the S meter, but in reality, the deflection of the meter changes in any way with VR, and the scale of the meter has 10 levels, so its unreliable. . After all, it is confirmed by comparison with other products of the same kind. The remote controller NCG-95 was obtained separately from the 95 receiver, but there is no problem with this operation. Originally, 4W cable was used for remote control using NTTs dedicated line, but recently, by converting voice band signals to IP, usage using networks has become common. However, when listing, it will be attached with a 4W cable for testing. If you are going to use it on a network, please prepare the necessary items such as an IP conversion device and a gateway separately. In addition, transmission loss such as cable length is adjusted by the attenuator in the receiver/remote controller. The 5V switching power supply CBD-530 seems to have had a lot of failures due to overheating (24V is applied to the 5V system, causing a total loss of the 5V system board), but this unit is an improved CBD-530B genuine product recommended by JRC. I have replaced it with a new one, built in a thyristor protection circuit, improved the quality of parts, and added ventilation slits and fuses to the 24V system. You can use it with confidence because measures against overheating are OK.In addition, the telecontroller is equipped with a burnout-proof 5V power supply called CBD-389B, which can also be used with confidence. The 7-segment LEDs in the BFO/CLAR/PBS areas, which have low luminosity and are prone to deterioration, and all the 7-segment LEDs for the frequency display have been replaced with high-intensity ones, so practical brightness is obtained with just over half of the DIMMER VR. . (Both the 95 receiver and telecontroller NCG-95. However, the teleconverter does not have a DIMMER.) A relatively wideband filter is inserted in the AUX part of the filter board in order to improve the sound quality of DSB reception. increase. Medium wave and short wave radio broadcasts can be received with a pretty good sound. Also, in order to improve the frequency stability of the receiver, I was planning to replace the 10MHz TCXO with a DTCXO, but after adjusting it to 10MHz after aging, I measured the stability on another day and found that 10 minutes after turning on the power. It was below the manufacturers standard of 10MHz ± 0.5Hz, so we decided that there was no need to replace it. (Room temperature 23 degrees, measured with MF57A) However, the TCXO of this implementation has also been replaced with TOYOCOMs TCO-501H, which has a small deviation. (See photo)I dont think there is a problem with the current situation, and I will attach a spare TCXO, but if you wish to change to a DTCXO, I will replace it at actual cost + labor. Please give instructions after a successful bid. Each switch has been maintained and works well. The display function and memory function of 60 channels are also OK, and the NB, speech filter, ATT, 20kHz step frequency display, and BFO/CLARI/PBS operations are also OK. There is no contact failure such as volume so far. Of course, a spare part containing the hard-to-find A-curve VR is also included. Moreover, the semiconductor illumination of a meter is also added. In addition, I replaced the left and right handles on the front and the mounting screws on the case with shiny new JRC genuine parts, which are difficult to obtain, and adjusted the 70MHz and 10MHz of the TCXO to below the specified value. bottom. The CGA-12 in the VCO section has also been adjusted. The memory battery was new about two years ago, and the voltage is normal, so I didnt replace it this time. (However, a spare battery is included.) NRD-95 receivers are originally classified into those specialized for ISB communication and those specialized for remote control functions. 95 receiver. Therefore, although the modem and filters necessary for remote control are available, the unit for ISB communication is not implemented. The telecontroller NCG-95 remotely controls the basic operations of the NRD-95 (AF GAIN, RF GAIN, PBS, BFO/CLARI, AF FITER, ATT), NB, reception frequency control, IF band switching, reception mode, and frequency designation. , memory CH, etc.) can be set remotely. Also, the NRD-95 receiver has 60 channels of memory, while the NCG-95 teleconverter has 100 channels of memory. Of course, there is also a scanning function. (However, NCG-95 is a remote controller, not a receiver.) How about those who are interested and who can appreciate it? Accessories other than the telecontroller are as follows. ?A genuine JRC 149 outer case is included for the NRD-95 receiver. Of course, the NRD-95 has a long depth, but since it is genuine, it fits perfectly. The case has a side slide fitting, so it can be stored smoothly and the screws on the front are not burdened.?The telecontroller NCG-95 has the same dimensions as the NRD-93 receiver, so it comes with a genuine JRC 149 outer case with a short depth. All 149 cases have a pedestal. Both cases have been repainted 7-8 years ago. (Steel gray color, pearl gray color.) Both are in good condition, although there are some minor paint peelings. (This is just my personal opinion Hi) Also, if you are concerned about small peeling paint, you can repaint it if you like. ?Speakers are SP-101 speakers made by Japan Radio that are painted to match the NRD-95 receiver and case. The SP-101 is a speaker from the NRD-7X era, but it also matches the 9X receiver and I think the sound is good. If you would like NVA-92 type speakers, please let us know when you make a bid as we will attach NVA-92 speakers. Both speakers have small scratches and dirt associated with use, so it is a bonus. The SP-101 has rubber feet, but they are decaying. In addition, the teleconverter NCG-95 has a built-in speaker, so an external speaker is not required. ? JRC Headphones ST-3 (Headphones OEM for JRC by Ashida Acoustic, with JRC mark in gold letters.) Used, but almost unused good product. (In original box) ?Extension card (extension board), which is indispensable for maintenance, is also self-made, but will be included. This board is a copy of the CHM-330, but there is no stress associated with attaching and detaching. In addition, the lever tool and the same holder for drawing out the board are attached to this board with genuine JRC ones. It is indispensable and useful for basic investigation at the time of maintenance. Its a must-have item.It is housed in the position of cmh-330 inside the NRD-95 receiver. ?I have inspected all the relays of the high-frequency input board CFL-176 that have often deteriorated over time, but I will attach about 2 spare relays. In the future, if reception problems occur, you can replace them as described in the attached maintenance document. (It is also included in the spare parts box.) ? In addition to the relays mentioned above, Hiroses metal contacts (new) for AC100V and DC24V are also included. Several red/black tactile switches for selection, which have many contact failures and tend to break their claws, are included. ?In addition to the above parts, it seems that all parts are not included, but the NRD-95 and NCG-95 spare parts boxes (unused) in the photo will be attached. It mainly contains CRs, but as you can see in the photo, it contains various parts. The highlight is Hiroses 1300 series connector (NCG-95), which is currently unavailable, and a sparepart that contains all the connectors that connect to the back of the NCG-95. 2 sets of 10MHz TCXO spare parts (oscillation within the specified value has been confirmed) for emergencies ?In addition, a maintenance guide (CD media, A4 size PDF 226 pages) that is useful for maintenance is attached . From the history of 93 receivers to the brothers series and detailed explanations of 95 receivers, detailed explanations of parts used, maintenance methods, repair practices, waveforms and voltages of each IC and TP, and other items necessary for maintenance. It is a valuable item that is described in detail. In addition, you can enjoy it as a reading material such as the history of the 93 receiver and the introduction of the current product, and the NRD-95 receiver is also useful because it is based on the NRD-93 receiver.I think that it can be used as an indispensable item for future maintenance and repair. Please note that there is a copyright setting, so we will limit the use to the individual successful bidder.? Stored in the JRC genuine thick cover file . Instruction manuals and circuit diagrams for other NRD-95 receivers and the same remote controller NCG-95 are attached.Inaddition, CDs are copies of circuit diagrams and manuals owned by JRC receiver related products in general. Put them in media(NRD-1,2,11E,15K,72,75,91,92,93,93A,95,252,253,256,302,630,NAJ1006,1008,1009,NCG-95,NDH93,93H,95) ?Two sets of genuine receiver power cords obtained from a JRC agency are included. ?Two 4W cables (genuine Hirose 6P metal connectors on both ends) for remote control testing areincluded. Two Hirose 6P metal contacts are included as spare parts, but they are useful when using other connections such as IP. ? Hiroses 1312 connector for BK etc. used in combination with the transmitter for communication is also attached as a spare part. (If you use the half-mute terminal, you can control the RF gain externally and use it for transmission monitoring, etc. Related information is available on the web.) Currently, this is a difficult item to obtain. This connector also provides audio external output (600?/4?). ?A spare memory battery is included. No problem for now, but for future use. The above are accessories. In addition, hook bolts for rack rails are included, but if you are using a drawer specification that uses rails in a JIS rack, etc., JRC rails (left and right pair) for drawers are in stock, so you will need them. If you are interested, please contact us. The degree of this machine is as shown in the photograph. In my opinion, there are no particularly fatal paint peelings or scratches, but there are scratches on the upper and lower panel plates of the main unit, deterioration due to use and aging. The front panel is clean.Regarding the operation, as mentioned above, there is no particular problem, but it is an old JRC receiver, and if you are looking for a product that retains its initial performance or is as good as new, please refrain from bidding. Regarding the operation, each function has been confirmed, so please do not claim or return. Approximately 250 units were manufactured, and it is extremely rare. It has a wide dynamic range, and it is possible to receive even weak signals that cannot be swayed by the S-meter. Hmm? I noticed in the internal photo that the AUX filter inserted into the CFH-33 on the IF board was YF455AAN. This is also a valuable AM ??filter for the 5.5 kHz band, but in the explanation text, I mistakenly wrote it as a ceramic filter for the 12 kHz band.In order to improve the sound quality of AM broadcasts, etc., it is necessary to use something with a wide band, but the mounted AM crystal filter will be attached as it is, and a ceramic filter circuit that has a wide band and aims to improve the sound quality of AM broadcasts. Assembly is also included as an accessory. If you would like to mount it from the beginning, we would like to mount a filter circuit assembly using high-band CERAFIL and include a 455kHz crystal filter for AM as an accessory. Please let me know when you make a successful bid. Would you like to take this opportunity? I need your help by a no claim no return. Thank you very much. The material is 2mm thick aluminum plate ( genuine is 2.5mm ) .Except for the bottom foot, all other parts were ordered from a sheet metal supplier.I did everything myself, from drilling and assembling to painting. It is almost the same size as the genuine case and the weight is also quite light. It has been used for many years, so there are scratches and peeling of the paint. The device stopper ( to prevent the device from moving up and down ) is located at the rear of the main body side rail as shown in the photo. The vertical movement of the device is restricted by applying a small L -shaped aluminum and sandwiching the case side rail in the gap created.Im not sure about the impossibility of installing other NRD equipment. This sale is for a JRC NRD-525 receiver many hobbyists have come to love over the past 30 years. The unit is not new, but the cosmetics of this receiver is above average with only minor marks from ownership. Please look carefully at the HD pictures and use the magnifier to see specific cosmetics of this receiver.Electronically, the receiver was tested and operates beautifully with wonderful sensitivity. The display still appears to have a nice intensity. We did not encounter any operational issues or shortcomings. This receiver is later serial number BR43517. From information in our notes, we can offer this additional info for you regarding the firmware installed as it correlates to the serial number:Serial BR36471 and above - SSB offset addedSerial BR36771 and above - The tuning rate of the main tuning knob and the step increment button (up/down) can be changed by hitting the run button. This will select two tuning speeds between 10 Hz and 100 Hz. The up/down buttons toggle between 10 Hz and 20 Hz. Earlier serial number units have a single and very slow 10 Hz tuning speedSerial BR38301 and above - the last important firmware update by JRC on the NRD-525 receiverThus, this serial number of BR43517 indicates that all the JRC firmware upgrades are installed in this receiver. Included with this receiver are the following:copy of the user manualcopy of the 156 page service manual AC power cordcopy of the sale brochurePassport Whitepaper review version 4.01The NRD-525 versus the R-5000 reviewA Highly Modified HQ-180A versus A Modified NRD-525 evaluationThe NRD-525 review - Charles Bolland (reprinted from Enjoying Radio 1987)WRTH review - 1987 (World Radio & Television Handbook)Wastegunner On A 525 - John Bryant review from Proceedings (DXing Newsletter)NRD-525 review QST Magazine - July 1988 ( amateur radio magazine)Class of 86 - NRD-525 review by Rainer LichtePassport To World Band Radio - review 1991Improving A Winner: Modifications & Upgrades For The NRD-525 - Guy Atkins in Proceedings NewsletterNRD Notes - Issue No. One published in Nov. 1993 by Bill Carney (I do not know if additional NRD Notes were ever published)Gilfer Shortwave catalog page 1991Gilfer Shortwave catalog page 1993Advertisement seen in Passport 1991Finally, a CD containing most of the above documents plus more. This CD and these documents are not sold and are provided free to the buyer of this receiver. This CD contains 585 MB of documents and you will find files on here that are not available from any other internet source. In using this NRD-525, we are reminded just how well this receiver is designed with the ergonomics controls. It is very well laid out and the user-friendly design makes it a joy to operate. The sensitivity on this 525 was amazing and we tuned into several distant stations during our testing to verify reception. One of the complaints we have read concerning these 525s is the fidelity using the on board speaker. Frankly, the fidelity was not great, but seemed no different than that found on many of the other communications receivers that we regularly test. Virtually all receivers can benefit from an external speaker and this unit is no exception, but the on board speaker seemed acceptable to me as we tuned around the bands. From what we have read, improvement can be found in fidelity using a set of headphones or an external speaker, if desired. The following is a bit of history of the Japan Radio Company and receiver. (asterisks * are placed to prevent accidental keyword spamming to comply with Ebays listing policies)In 1977, Japan Radio Co. had introduced its first radio into the consumer market for shortwave enthusiasts. JRC had a long history of manufacturing commercial and military equipment and now began its foray into a market dominated by the names such as C*ollins and Dr*ake. The initial introduction, the NRD**505, reportedly made less than 1,000 units and this receiver broke new ground for enthusiasts with its high construction standards and precise digital readout. Cost of this receiver was over $2,200 which was a tidy sum of money in the 70s.The NRD**505 was followed up by the NRD**515 in 1979 which was continued into 1986 when JRC introduced this outstanding NRD-525. One of the preeminent shortwave experts and testers is a guy by the name of Larry Magne. Many of you who have read Passports reviews over the past couple of decades have seen Larrys work. He is also largely responsible for the collection of information in the Radio Database Intl whitepapers that give much more detailed reports on a range of popular and high end communication receivers. Regarding the NRD-525, Larry wrote it must be said that the NRD-525 is as close to the optimum shortwave listeners receiver as is in existence and Japan Radio has taken the features shortwave listeners have always sought....and packaged the lot into what is unquestionably the best overall shortwave listeners receiver on the market today and finally the NRD-525 exemplifies once again that Japan Radio receivers are for the connoisseur.Larrys words are over 25 years old so have to be considered with available receivers from that era, but it is not improper to compare this classic receiver to its piers of that vintage and come up with the enthusiasm that Larry found with this NRD-525. Here is a list of the features on this receiver:· Exceptional sensitivity of less than .5 uV 1.6 - 30.0 MHz SSB· Coverage from 90 KHz on up to 34 MHz· Rock solid stability of + or - 3 ppm (and thus enjoyed by utility DXers)· Tunable and readout down to 10 Hz· Razor sharp notch filter and pass band tuning to dig out that signal and reject unwanted signals· 24 hour timer and clock functions· 200 channel scanning that stores frequency, mode, bandwidth, AGC and ATT settings for each channel· RIT tuning offering + or - 5 KHz· 3 position AGC· 4 position dial lamp dimmer· up / down slew tuning· RF gain· BFO + or - 2 KHz· 1/4 headphone jack and separate line out and speaker jacks· Operating modes of AM / SSB/ / CW / FAX / FM / RTTY· 2 stock bandwidths for AM and SSB· Dual Noise Blankers for 2 types of noise signals· ANL (automatic noise limiter)· Operates on 100 / 120 / 220 / 240 VAC 50/60 Hz or 12-16 VDCOne of the things that most impresses us about these Japan Radio receivers is the quality of manufacture. If you should remove the top cover to peer inside, you will see a beautifully designed unit that is modular and which allows for easier access to the various circuit boards for swapping out for replacement. In addition, all the knobs are removed to carefully clean them and to better access the front panel for cleaning. With the NRD-525, we were impressed with the weighted tuning knob that weighed on our postal scale at 6.1 oz and the quality machining using 6 screws to attach the skirt to the knob. Common knobs are either plastic or inexpensively made, but JRC seemed to spare no cost with the weighted tuning knob.At this point, we want to share with you some other available information found on the web concerning this 525 model. You can look at reviews from other users here on eHam.net and please note that the 14 reviewers gave it a 4.8 out of 5:www.eham.net/reviews/detail/1507 (copy and paste link into your internet browser)And this site gives some basic info on the NRD-525 giving it a full 5 Hs (below the listing for the NRD*515):www.dxing.com/rx/nrd515.htm (copy and paste link into your internet browser)Please use the Ebay shipping calculator to determine your shipping cost. I picked this unit up from an estate sale. This gentleman took extreme care with his equipment and appears to be in great condition. I do not have an antenna to test the unit. This unit is being sold AS IS. Send over any questions you might have so I can help! This JRC NRD-535 shortwave radio communication ham receiver is a top-of-the-line unit that captures even the most distant signals with exceptional clarity. Made in Japan, this unit boasts digital features and operates on both AM and HF bands. Ideal for amateur radio enthusiasts, this base station unit is sure to impress with its ability to pick up even the faintest signals. The NRD-535 model is highly sought after and this unit is in excellent condition. The NRD-535 won the 1991 World Radio TV Handbook Industry Award for the Best Communications Receiver and Passport listed it as a Passport's Choice for outstanding receiver and value.

Thanks for looking! First off, this is 100% the cheapest option online as of 7/17/23. I am undercutting the entire market for a quick sale, as I have zero use for this HAM anymore. Thanks!! This JRC receiver adopts a double frequency conversion configuration and covers the band of 0.09~34 MHz in all operating modes. The front-end uses a group of band pass filters as a preselector, tuned by diodes with variable capacitance according to the frequency from the microprocessor, followed by a mixer made by FET connected in push-pull configuration. This is to guarantee a dynamic range of adequate level. Among the features: PBS (pass-band-shift) to move the IF window of ±1 KHz, BFO to move the detection point within ±2 KHz, notch filter in the 2nd IF with minimum attenuation of 30 dB, noise-blanker (NB) with intervention level adjustment, AGC time constant selectable between slow or fast response, RF-gain for continuous gain adjustment in the medium frequency chain, squelch, RF attenuator, audio tone control, dual clock with timer, output connection to activate a recorder, mute connection for pairing to a transceiver. The tuning setting can be performed by rotary control, with direct input from the keyboard, or even remote PC management. The display shows every data and active function including the S-meter which uses in-line segments for the indication on the graduated scale in S points. There are 200 memory locations to which also associate the AGC setting, the possible insertion of the RF attenuator, the IF filter to be used. Search options between memory channels and between frequency limits, both with settable speed. NRD-525 IF filters : In the JRC NRD 525 there are two free positions for the installation of filters at the level of the 2nd IF. One is corresponding to the narrow position and is intended for filters with a bandwidth of 1 KHz, thus for RTTY / CW modes. One instead corresponds to the auxiliary position and when it does not mount any filter has a bandwidth of about 12 KHz, the same that is used in the FM mode, while as an option the user can insert a filter as desired among the compatible ones. This Japan Radio JRC NRD-525 SW AM SSB CW Radio is a rare quality shortwave receiver that boasts various features such as digital tuning and support for multiple modes including SSB, CW, and AM. The brand, JRC, is highly respected in the radio communication industry, and this model in particular was manufactured in Japan. Working condition when last tested! Sold As Is, shipped within 48 hours of sale! tracking and insurance provided. 100% positive feedback seller!! Thanks!!

-Description-The reception is good in all modes from LF to 33MHz.There are no problems with any of the control buttons, and the VR has no galling. It is equipped with CHE-85 (V/UHF CONV) and GCA-118 (V/UHF LOCAL) and RS232C unit (CMH-532) as options. One drawback is that the V/U unit does not operate properly. It seems to display frequencies from 50 to 450 MHz without unlocking, but reception is not possible. It seems to work with some adjustments, but I dont have the data at hand and cant get at it.Please try to maintain this unit as it rarely comes up.HF reception is very good with little floor noise. This NRD-525 was used by us with JST-135 and remote. We are also exhibiting a set of our own communication cable that was used to connect the NRD-525 to the JST-135.Originally, the RS-232C connector between JST-135 and NRD-525 was a special one and is difficult to obtain nowadays. As an alternative, Hiroses HR series connectors were used to produce the communication cable. In order for the successful bidder to operate it remotely, it is necessary to replace the JST-135 connector with the supplied one, widen the hole diameter by about 1mm, and attach a female HRS connector.Since the communication cable is a crossover cable, the NRD-525 and JST-135 can be wired straight from 1 to 10 according to the pin assignments of the connectors. The pin assignment of the wiring is attached as a reference.Attached are the instruction manual, AC power cable, communication cable for remote control, and a set of wiring data. Very clean, gently used NRD-545 top of the line receiver. Everything works as it should. The most pleasurable radio to use I have ever had. Comes from a non-smoking home. This sale is for a JRC NRD-525 receiver many hobbyists have come to love over the past 30 years. The unit is not new and the cosmetics are about average with some marks that are common on these JRC receivers. Please look carefully at the HD pictures and use the magnifier to see specific cosmetics of this receiver.Electronically, the receiver was tested and operates beautifully with wonderful sensitivity. The display still appears to have a nice intensity. We did not encounter any operational issues or shortcomings. Regarding the NRD-525, Larry wrote it must be said that the NRD-525 is as close to the optimum shortwave listeners receiver as is in existence and Japan Radio has taken the features shortwave listeners have always sought....and packaged the lot into what is unquestionably the best overall shortwave listeners receiver on the market today and finally the NRD-525 exemplifies once again that Japan Radio receivers are for the connoisseur.Larrys words are over 20 years old so have to be considered with available receivers from that era, but it is not improper to compare this classic receiver to its piers of that vintage and come up with the enthusiasm that Larry found with this NRD-525. Features and further details Additional Features: Details This is the NRD-93 receiver, a world-famous receiver made by Japan Radio. There is no particular problem with receiving operations or functional operations. I dont think its inferior to other 93 or 95 receivers I own. It seems that 5V switching power supplies have had problems due to overheating (24V is applied to the 5V system, causing a total loss of the 5V system board), but this unit was modified to the improved CBD-530B specification recommended by JRC. It has been replaced, and a built-in thyristor protection circuit, higher quality parts, and a fuse have been added to the 24V system. You can use it with confidence because measures against overheating are OK. The 7-segment LED for BFO/CLAR/PBS and the 7-segment LED for frequency display have been replaced with high-brightness ones, so practical brightness is about half that of DIMMER VR. The frequency display is also larger than conventional products, making it easier to see. (Room temperature 22 degrees, measured with MF63A)If you wish to change to DTCXO, we will replace it at actual cost + labor. Please give instructions after a successful bid. Each switch has been maintained and works well. The filter bands of the 93 receiver are 0.3kHz, 1kHz, 3kHz, and 6kHz, but a slightly wider band filter is placed in the AUX position so that AM broadcasts can be enjoyed with good sound. We can receive broadcast of AM with considerably good sound. Moreover, the semiconductor illumination of a meter is also added. In addition, I replaced the left and right handles on the front and the mounting screws on the case with shiny new JRC genuine parts, which are difficult to obtain, and adjusted the 70MHz and 10MHz of the TCXO to below the specified value. bottom. CGA-12 is also adjusted. The memory battery was new about two years ago, and the voltage is normal, so I didnt replace it this time. (Batteries for replacement are included.) If you are interested, or if you like it, what do you think? Accessories are as follows. An outer case is included. This case is my own work, so its a bonus. However, since it is made quite precisely, the 93 receiver fits perfectly, and in order to increase strength, the key points are made 3 mm thick and made strong. Since the main unit and the case slide metal fittings are attached, it can be stored smoothly, and there is no burden on the screws on the front. There is no stress when putting the main unit in and out. The foot is attached with a new rubber foot for Takachis 5mm screw.Pearl gray paint is applied as a topcoat. You can repaint it if you like. The attached speaker is NVA-101 made by Japan Radio. Originally, the speaker for the 9X series was the NVA-92, but I personally prefer the 101 because of its design. Built-in 600? transformer. If you want NVA-92, you can exchange it there. The base drawer lever tool is included inside the main unit. In addition, we will attach a maintenance guide (CD media, A4 size PDF 232 pages) that is useful for maintenance. Detailed description of parts used, maintenance methods, repair practices, waveforms and voltages of each IC and TP, and items necessary for maintenance, including the history of 93 receivers, brother series, and detailed descriptions of 95 receivers. It is a precious thing that was made. You can also enjoy it as a reading material, such as an introduction to the history of 93 receivers and current products.Since this unit is a 93 receiver, there is no problem, but the detailed instructions for remodeling a 92 receiver to 93 receiver specifications are described in detail, and I think that it can be used as an indispensable item for future maintenance and repairs.?In addition, since there is a copyright setting, we will limit it to the successful bidders personal use. Instruction manual for JRC genuine NRD-93 receiver is attached. In addition, I put the circuit diagrams and instruction manuals owned by JRC receiver related products in general on the CD media.(NRD- 1,2,11E,15K,72,75,91,92,93,93A,95,252,253,256,302,630,NAJ1006,1008,1009,NCG-95,NDH93,93H,95) The power cord was obtained from a JRC agent. Attach special items. Assuming use with DC, a 2P metacon for DC24V is attached. Two spare 24V relays for the CFL-172 board, which are easily damaged by lightning surges, are included. I will also attach a new Hirose 1312 connector for BK, etc., which is used in combination with the transmitter for communication. (If you use the half-mute terminal, you can control the RF gain externally and use it for transmission monitoring, etc. Related information is available on the web.) Currently, this is a difficult item to obtain. This connector also provides audio external output (600?/4?). A spare memory battery is included. No problem for now, but for future use. We also include hook bolts that are necessary when storing on a drawer rail. If you would like a drawer rail, please contact us. Also included is AMECOs world-famous PT-3 pre-selector, which is great in low conditions. The gain is about 20-30dB, but since the band noise also increases, the gain per 10dB is effective. It also comes with a Calicon. The FET has been replaced with a low NF one, but the original is still in the housing. Of course, a 75? system connection cable is also included. The above are accessories. As mentioned above, there are no particular problems, but it is a mid-93 receiver manufactured in 1987 and is an old JRC receiver, so there are minor scratches and paint peeling due to aging. (However, although it looks uneven in color in the photo, I think the panel is beautiful.) Inany case, if you are looking for a product that retains its initial performance or is as good as new, please refrain from bidding. Regarding the operation, each function has been confirmed, so please do not claim or return. Why dont you play with a professional receiver that is rare, has a wide dynamic range, and can receive even weak signals that cannot be detected by the S-meter? Would you like to take this opportunity? I need your help by a no claim no return. Thank you very much. If you own one of the famed Japan Radio Company receivers like the NRD-535 or 545, then this speaker will be a nice accessory for you to have to accompany the receiver. Of course, this speaker can be used with practically any receiver and offer some nice advantages. This speaker is used and in very nice original condition showing only minor marks from previous ownership. These speakers are easily scratched and so it is common to see a variety of marks on the covers and you will see a few on this speaker. Please look closely at our pictures and use them to supplement the words describing the speaker. Operationally the speaker has been tested and works beautifully with no buzzing or distortion. Included with the speaker is a copy of the factory sheet that gives brief specs and operational information. If you watch Ebay, then you realize that the NVA-319 is much less common than the receivers that it is intended to match. It is hard to find them in any condition and difficult to locate one if you want to obtain it for your receiver. It is priced in accordance with scarcity and desirability. Since the speaker connects to the receiver using an RCA style plug to the back of the receiver, the set up time is a matter of seconds. The listener is rewarded by a speaker that is forward facing unlike the built in speakers found in the Japan Radio cabinets. This speaker projects the sound forward and makes the signal easier to listen to and copy. The speaker is also larger than the built in speaker, and while not high fidelity, is a big improvement on the sound. A nice feature of this speaker is that it has 3 frequency cuts for the listener to choose from if desired...2 high cuts and a low cut. Thus, if you are hearing a lot of hiss or a heterodyne, you can push the high cuts to improve the signal. Similarly, if you hear a bassy muddy sound, you can cut out the lows to improve things. There is also a connection for a second input like another receiver and a jack for headphones so that you can use the frequency cuts on another receiver or on phones as well.
