I have all of the original accessories and packing material to ensure safe shipping. The unit looks great, but I took a picture of the one flaw I can find, and yes, its EXTREMELY minor, but, of course, full disclosure. Youll never see it unless you have the worst OCD, but again, look at the picture. Remember, it does NOT come with a power cord, and Audioquest recommends that you use one of their low noise cord (of course). I had a Thunder hooked up to it, and thought it was grand. It is one metre in length, fitted with RCA connections at both ends, in full working order and comes in original packaging. Note that the rubberised coating on 2nd DBS has degraded slightly Audioquest Say…. At the top of the Rivers line-up, Niagara’s Solid PSS makes this cable a joy to listen to and represents a very strong audio value. Solid conductors prevent strand interaction, a major source of cable distortion. Extremely high-purity Perfect-Surface Silver (PSS) minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries that exist within any metal conductor, eliminating harshness and greatly increasing clarity compared to all other conducting materials. Air is the best insulation because it does not absorb and later release energy. FEP is the best extrudable solid insulation because it absorbs less than other materials. The large FEP Air-Tubes used in Niagara have almost nothing but air around the PSS conductors. Greatly improved performance is made possible by a constant 72 volt charge on all Niagara’s insulation. When insulation is unbiased, its dielectric properties cause difference amounts of time-delay for each frequency and each signal level, as if each were a coin dropped in different thickness/viscosity shampoo or engine oil. Similar to how the earth’s magnetic field makes all compasses point north, the AQ DBS system creates an electrostatic field which causes the molecules of the insulation to all point in the same direction. This minimizes the multiple nonlinear time-delays. Sound appears from a surprisingly black background with unexpected detail and dynamic contrast. Because DBS battery packs are attached when Niagara cables are assembled, Niagara does not require any additional run-in period. Because there is no “load” on batteries, they will last for years. A test button and LED allow for occasional verification of battery performance. Two different shield strategies (conductive PVC and foil) are used to greatly reduce RF energy BEFORE getting drained to ground. This significantly reduces signal modulation distortion.
