This has been a workhorse for me for 20 years. The volume control needs servicing it is making scratching noises when adjusting but once set at a volume it works. Adcom GFP-750 - Audiophile Level Nelson Pass Designed Stereo Preamplifier Bought an Ayre K5xe mp, my system has been so upgraded, it has outgrown this overachieving preamplifier. Class A Stereophile magazine rated. Also comes with programmed aftermarket remote. Used it for volume control, not sure what else it will do as volume is all I need. I unplug my gear when not in use. I’m am selling my baby! Was barely used, works great without any problems. Sounds awesome like no other amp. I recorded a video, please watch it. There is SO MUCH POWER IN THIS BEAST! It also weighs a ton. Cosmetically, it is in good condition given its age. Please check the pics, pics are part of the description of the cosmetic condition. THE TIP OF THE POWER SWITCH IS BROKEN BUT IT DOES NOT INTERFERE WITH THE POWER ON OFF AND WORKS WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS AS THERE IS ENOUGH LENGTH LEFT TO OPERATE IT. Very nice piece. Overall very nice condition. It was in a working system hooked up when I received it. It is in working condition, but I have not personally tested every function and input. Mit originalem HiFi-Exklusiv Testheft Ausgabe III/1991 hier aus meiner Sammlung zum Verkauf: Die rare Edelvorstufe, der Vorverstärker, das Forte Audio Model 40, in kompromissloser Class-A-Technik ausgelegt, noch aus der Nelson Pass Entwicklungszeit bei der Fa. Forte Audio. Es handelt sich um die letzte Endwicklungsstufe des 40er Modells überhaupt. Dies ist erkennbar am zusätzlichen XLR-Eingang und einem XLR-Ausgang. Siehe Fotos. Zum Werterhalt des Vorverstärkers sind fast alle Kondensatoren erneuert und durch leistungsfähigere neuzeitliche Varianten (Nichicon Fine Gold) ersetzt worden. Hieraus resultiert eine feinere räumlichere Klangabbildung verbunden mit einer knochentrockenen Tiefbassabbildung. Auch der serienmäßige Nabelschnuranschluß ist geändert. Das Versorgungskabel ist jetzt an beiden Enden abnehmbar. Hierzu hat der Vorverstärker eine zusätzliche Anschlußbuchse für die +/- 19Volt-Gleichspannungsversorgung spendiert bekommen. Dieses Netzteil hat selbstverständlich auch neue Kondensatoren bekommen und ist serienmäßig auf 220Volt eingestellt.
