Looks to be in very good cosmetic condition. Comes with its original shipping box and product box. Shipping packaging inserts, manual and original remote. The remote looks to have never been used. I wonder if this was a return because the volume knob was broke. Then reclaimed and stored for many years. Tested the unit and the door tray opened and closed fine. It seemed to go through the functions just fine. It sure does run pretty quiet. I only tested one disc on it. Just took it out of the box and removed the transit screw, hooked it up ran one disc and went through most of the functions and then inserted the transit screw back in. Then placed the unit back in its box. I left the remote untouched. All that said and since this is an old electronic from 1986 and good quality unit. THIS unit is to be sold in AS IS condition. Regardless of what the description states or does NOT state. NO future partial refunds for ANYTHING etc. I want it to go to someone who is handy with them. If something happens, I certainly NOT interested in what your repair guy has to say, cost etc. Old electronics this is your risk totally. I am just giving you an opportunity to simply own a quality Nakamichi system to the audio hobbyist who respects it and appreciates it for what it is as it is. Vintage Nakamichi PA-7AII Stasis Inherently Stable Power Amplifier 225W+225W Good, clean, preowned condition. Fully tested and working. There are a couple small scratches on top of case. Front face has 2 small scuffs. A little touch up paint will have this looking pristine. No dents or damage beyond these superficial marks as shown in photos. Please keep in mind that this amplifier is 60 lbs so please plan accordingly. Please feel free to ask any questions.

Classic Nakamichi amplifier in excellent condition. Just some little nicks here and there otherwise very clean. The amplifier has a noise issue that comes on about 10 minutes into warming up. A white noise that can be in one channel or the other or both. After about 15 or so minutes of that it goes away and the channels are quiet. It doesnt always do it but most of the time it does. It a quiet room youll hear it if semi close to your speakers. It seems to be a ground loop issue. I dont know why but if you move the RCAs around the noise changes. The sound is mostly out of the tweeters. The channels always work Otherwise it sounds very good with lots of separation and a midrange thats natural. Look closely at all the pics. Ask any questions you may have. Comes with a 14 gauge power cord. It will be packed solid with thick styrofoam encasing it and fully insured. Direct signature will be required. (As is)

However due to the nature of vintage electronic, and the few fraudulent buyers out there. I am offering this as-is, with no guarantee of its full function when it arrives to you. Vintage electronics contain 20-50 years old parts (belts, rubber parts, caps, etc) that while still work at the time I tested the unit, can fail at any given time. The changes include both additional control features and circuit modifications. The Series II circuit design closely resembles that of Nakamichi’s top Control Amplifier, the CA-7A. The principal changes from the “minimalist” control design of the CA-5 are the addition of defeatable tone controls, two-way tape-dubbing facilities, and three selectable gain settings for the moving-coil (mc) phono input. Despite its external simplicity, the CA-5A II is a highly flexible preamplifier. It has five high-level inputs, and the single phono input is switchable between mc and mm modes by a small toggle on the rear apron. Another toggle switch selects capacitances of 100, 200, or 300 picofarads (in parallel with a nominal 50,000-ohm resistance) as an input termination for mm cartridges or gains of 24, 30, or 36 dB for mc cartridges. The MC-cartridge termination, normally 100 ohms, can be changed to another value (from 3 to 50 ohms) by dealer installation of additional resistors supplied with the preamplifier. The high-level inputs are tuner, CD player, auxiliary, and two tape decks. A single knob selects one of the high-level inputs or the phono input. A separate tape-monitor knob (set to source when a tape input is not used) has positions for playback from either tape deck and for copying a tape from either machine to the other. The other front-panel controls are entirely conventional. Normally, the tone controls are completely removed from the signal path; a separate button activates them. Like the CA-7A, the CA-5A II uses a multi-regulated, isolated-ground power supply for maximum isolation of all circuits. Following its master regulator, the power supply has separate regulators for the left and right channels of the MC phono preamplifier, the mm phono preamplifier, the RIAA phono equalizer, the line-level amplifiers, and the tone-control amplifiers. Still another regulator powers the relays used for signal switching.
