This item has been tested and is in 100% operational condition. I have used this with 700 II, 1000ZXL, 680, ZX-7, 582, 580, LX-5, LX-3, and CR-5A decks. It will also work with the Dragon and RX decks but play > only in one direction. This will work on any Nakamichi deck that has the wired remote input DIN socket. This is correct for all Nakamichi wired remotes that have been made they are all backward and forward compatible. Cosmetic condition is good with some signs of use. Here is a Nakamichi CR-5 Discrete 3 Head Cassette Deck with Direct Drive Motor. Unlike the CR-5A American model this can run off either 120 volts or 240 volts for international use by moving a switch on the back. It sounds great after being fully serviced last year. The Direct Drive motor has very low wow and flutter. It has the same mechanism as the CR-7 and sounds just as good as the later models. Here are the parts that were replaced: Capstan Belt, Tension Belt, Pinch Rollers, Cam mode switches, Lubricated the Capstan Motor, and Cleaned the Heads and tape selector, so it should be ready for many more years of reliable operation. The heads had the azimuth aligned with a Calibration Tape. Fully tested on recording and playback.

Head unit does power on but does not spin cassettes. Maybe needs a belt. Not working. Lights power on and some buttons light up but the play button and down fader don’t light up. Bias tune knob also is not attached properly. Again for parts/not working properly. As is. Happy bidding

We have for sale a paper original factory service manual for a Nakamichi CR-5 (+ CR-5A and CR-5E) Generally clean unless noted otherwise. Please read below for details: We are selling off service manuals from our old shop and that of another friendly competitor from the area. These were both very active repair shops in their day and the manuals got used! We will try to point out any flaws we spot other than ones visible in the pictures. There is often writing in the manuals but generally it is helpful service information to help fix a quirky problem a technician encountered while working on the unit. When it says service notes on back page or see bulletins on the front cover it doesnt necessarily mean they are in this manual! Often the bulletins were kept elsewhere in the shop. PLEASE MAKE SURE THIS MANUAL IS AN EXACT MATCH TO THE COMPONENT YOU HAVE!
