Es wurden sämtliche Elkos getauscht und die Spannungsversorgung zusätzlich stabilisiert und geglättet (Upgrade!). Die Mechanik wurde komplett zerlegt und gereinigt, gefettet/geölt (mit den dafür Schmiermitteln). Ein neuer Riemen wurde zeitgleich eingesetzt. Die abschließende genaue Einmessung und Kalibrierung führte zu Topaufnahmen für Kassetten des Typ 1,2 und 3! —- Das Nakamichi CR-2E ist ein 2-Kopf-Kassettendeck, das erneuert und revidiert wurde.
