I am not familiar with home audio so please understand that I do not know how to properly test this. It’s in fantastic shape but I make no guarantees. When I put a tape in it will rewind and fast forward but when I press play it begins to turn then stops. Not sure if it’s my tape or the settings on the unit. All offers are considered. There are close to 25 steps to align this deck to make it work as it should including each tape type record replay response for 400Hz/15 Khz Considering the Digital Multi Meter should have close to 200 Khz response ( not just any DMM)I use 2 Fluke 867B along with VTVM having still higher bandwidth. Using the Play head azimuth, Record head current for each tape type as well as Azimuth / track alignment needed to set it up for Recording alignment. If these were done correctly along with internal Pot adjustment, Autocalibration will result in Precise Response Since I keep seeing certain Electrolytic Caps in Power Supply failing in CR 7A/5A - These were replaced along with other service Finally I only offer Deck with new Belts and checking record replay response Finally - it will come with brand new Maxell XL II Tape - just calibrated and sample recording as reference to the buyer. Nakamichi Hi End Pre Amplifier One of the Sought after for top Class MC Phono input. I had serviced. I had resoldered Cold Solder joints after noticing problem in one channel and checked for correct MC Phono setting per Service Manual. I also checked using Test equipment for correct operation to ensure stable operation after the resoldering. All inputs had been tested including low output MC Phono Cartridge playing Vinyl records. See notes on CA 7A design and its place in MC phono top Phono Preamplifiers. A generic programmed IR remote with all Remote Functions used on RM 7CA remote will be included. See Photo for the unit. Its operation will be sent along with user manual to the buyer When it comes to Vinyl play using low output Moving Coil Cartridge, Solid state Preamplifiers are judged by their low noise design and performance. Nakamichi CA 7A stands apart as it has all high end design aspects matching with multi thousand $ Pre Amplifiers but it is still available below 1000 $ in the used market. It is also a complete preamplifier with many inputs. Finally it also has Tone Control if you wish to shape the response minimally ( I did not feel the need when I use it) It uses time tested Toshiba JFETs ( junction Field Effect Transistors ) particularly using complimentary multiple parallel design in the MC input part to keep very low input noise. Its Power Supply is elaborate (dual Mono design) and has local Power Supply regulators using low noise potted Toroidal Transformers/ Elna Capacitors. It has a Sturdy Aluminum chassis with Gold plated inputs for all RCA connections . Its rest of the Circuitry is again using Toshiba Low Noise matched Dual FETs and discrete design. It is capacitor free signal path using Offset control. You also can notice Gold plated connectors including Spade connectors for low impedance signal lines as well Power line. Ultimately proof of the pudding is eating - so listening to Vinyl using this complete preamplifier with minimal Tone controls is a pleasure. It is extremely quite for MC phono play and very detailed reproduction making Vinyl sound better than anything you would have heard. Up for sale is a used and tested Nakamichi genuine factory remote for the CA-7A preamp. This was tested and works fine on a CA-7A preamp we had in the shop and all the functions worked as they should. We also tested the functions for other components (CD, tuner and tape deck) with a light meter that showed it was sending a signal out. Not sure which other components this works with besides the CA-7A and well leave it up to you to do the research! Weve sold several dozen remotes with this level of testing and never had a problem so long as it was paired with the component it was designed for. Uses two AA batteries which are not included. Up for sale is a very nice, properly working Nakamichi CA-7A solid state preamp. It works great on our Sound Technology test panel. More importantly it sounds great on music! We played music on it for 4-5 hours without any signs of trouble and tested it cold the following morning and all was still good! All inputs, including phono were tested and work as they should. NO REMOTE INCLUDED but we tested the unit with a remote we had around and the unit responded to (and worked!) all the remote commands. All lamps work and all buttons intact, none have fallen off! Were giving it an 7.5-8 of 10 for cosmetic condition, just a few minor blemishes here and there. Comes with 3 prong IEC power cord which may not be the original. Copy (not original) of the owners manual included. It will be very well packed and we promise it will arrive working and exactly as described No long term guarantee beyond that.
