Here i have a very rare find for the UK, a very very nice Nakamichi Amp-2 integrated. Ive wanted to build a matching Nak system around this amplifier ever since owning it, but the Nakamichi separates command such a price that its just not viable for someone like me that already owns so much other stuff, but boy oh boy does this amp impress from the very first musical note! The specs as youll see below, are relatively modest by monster amp standards, however, i would never have believed it is actually this modest, in fact the real world performance seems to destroy the specs altogether, because wow it punches way harder ! Ive run this connected to biggest and most inefficient speakers i have owned at different times, and still, i cannot in all seriousness get the volume control past the first third without risking neighbour complaints from all sides! But, of course its certainly not just about power and volume, it has a tight grip on the audio, and an energy unlike anything ive heard of this supposed spec, so much so i started to think it had been modified and upgraded, maybe at the same time that the speaker terminals were upgraded to a proper binding posts for banana jacks. In great condition all round, inside and out, and complete with the original remote control which will also control other Nak devices if youre lucky enough to own some.
