Great sounding Nakamichi Receiver 2 in good condition. The person I got this from was using this in his garage and decided to sell it when he found a different brand with more bells and whistles. After he hooked it up so I could verify that it worked, he wondered why he sold it. It had better sound than the bells and whistles model he was using. His loss is someone elses gain. The unit worked well with very good sound. I checked the cd input and the tape input, I did not check the phono input, but see no reason that there would be an issue as everything else worked correctly. One of the antenna clips has broken off, everything else is in good condition. The unit needs a good detail clean as it was in his dusty garage. I lightly wiped it down but did not do a detail clean. There looks to be a little paint on the unit, just cosmetic, does not affect the use. Please check the photos for cosmetic details.I looked up the specs online and have pasted them below. We all know about Nakamichi decks. Probably the most sought after cassette decks ever. Well they also made other components. And their quality is also excellent. Nak had a great reputation back in the day and they werent gonna damage that by releasing sub-par gear. Their MusicBank CD-Players have a great reputation and are quite sought after. This one, the MB-2s, is a 7-disc changer. Comes with the remote that works perfectly. Near-mint condition. Sweet. The RE-2 receiver is a perfect match. 55 wpc and those sweet angled buttons just like the tape decks. Also near-mint. All features work as they should. This also has pre-outs and main-ins. You can use it as a preamp or a power amp if you want. This is a great combo and if you happen to have a black Nakamichi deck these would look perfect together. Thanks for looking! The amp works as it should, and there arent any issues with the sound. Its worth noting that these units were known for having a noticeable boost in the bass range. Its fun and adds energy to the sound, but its not a flat response like most amps are. This unit also needs to be plugged in for a bit before itll start playing if its been unplugged for an extended period of time. Im not sure if thats expected behavior with these units or not, but its worth noting. Im assuming it has something to do with the caps discharging and taking a second to recharge, but Im not sure. Cosmetically, its a bit of a mess. There are lots of scratches all over the case and on the fascia. See the pictures for more details. I dont have its remote control, so its not included.
