Naim Hi-Cap Chrome bumper, in original box, with matching serial number. I bought it two years ago from the original owner, so Im the second owner. After I bought I have take it to an expert and have replaced the big caps now they both Kemets. When I checked the interiors after I bought it I have chipped the facade accidentally as you can see on the pictures. Other that that the unit looks like new. Ich verkaufe hier meine Vorstufe Naim NAC 282 aus dem Jahr 2011. Passt wunderbar zur Endstufe NAP250 oder auch zur NAP300, so lief sie bei mir zuletzt. Das Gerät funktioniert einwandfrei und klingt phantastisch.Einziger Makel ist das verlaufene Naim-Logo, das passiert bei diesen Geräten immer irgendwann,hat mit der Funktion aber nichts zu tun und ist auch irgendwann weg, dann ist es komplett zerlaufen und siehtwieder normal aus. :) Wer sich für das Gerät interessiert wird sich sicher mit Naim auskennen und auch die Besonderheiten kennen, insbesondere die DIN-Verbindungen und den Umstand, daß zum Betrieb der Vorstufenoch ein Netzteil benötigt wird, entweder das Hi-Cap oder das Supercap.Wichtig hierbei: ohne Naim Netzteil keine Signalausgabe an die Endstufe, das ist etwas speziell, klingt aber genial! :) Ein Hi-Cap DR habe ich auch noch, das ist aus dem Jahr 2019, wenn das jemand haben möchte wäre mein Preis dafür 1000€. Gegenstand dieser Auktion ist die NAC 282, das Netzteil PSU (das ist nur für das digitale Schaltnetzwerk in der NAC), die Fernbedienung und die OVP. This is a phenomenal NAIM stand - with isolation spikes. This, I am told, is super rare. This particular stand came directly from Julian Veleker back in the 80’s when welcoming one of the first NAIM dealers in the US, based out of Monterey, CA. The stand is in fine shape functionally, but while it looks great with NAIM gear, the independent shelves do have scratches from gear over the years. As is for the stand only. If shipping is required, please do not expect costs to be $150. It does come apart so may not be terribly expensive. Stand is 30” in height, with spikes installed. It is 22.75” wide, 18.50” total depth. As currently configured, the bottom two shelves offer 6 7/8th spacing while the top offers 4 7/8ths. This. Thing. Boogies. The Exposure Super XVIII is a purely British amplifier, built much in the tradition of amps like the classic Anime NAP 250. And indeed, the audio circuitry is very similar to that of the old Naim chrome bumper amps. The Super XVIII features specially-made, Exposure-branded output transistors, and has a massive toroidal transformer as the basis of its heavy duty linear power supply. As a result, it puts out 75 watts per channel into 8 ohms, with plenty of current capability to drive even the most demanding speakers. The result is a sound that is full of verve and life, with the legendary pace, rhythm, and timing that British amplifiers are known for. The Super XVIII is one of the last amps Exposure founder John Farlowe oversaw. This particular example is in near-perfect condition. One notes that the amp was built in February of 1996, and was serviced in 2017. The audio boards have been fully re-capped, using audio-grade Panasonic and Nippon Chemi-Con electrolytic capacitors. The power transformer has been refastened and rewired to the power switch for 120v operation in North America, and the captive power cable re-terminated with a heavy duty hospital-grade plug. To top it off, the cover has been beautifully refinished to give the amp a like-new look. Note that the XLR jacks are NOT balanced, but wired for single-ended inputs. At the time, Exposure thought that XLR connectors sounded better, so theyre wired into the RCA jacks. You can only use one OR the other. Also note there are two left and right speaker outputs, and that they require the use of banana jacks. Priced to move; you wont find another like this at this price.
