This unit was primarily used for an Australian university research project to record aircraft cockpit speech and language, cabin background noise etc and then replay for acoustic analysis. It was then tucked away for me to do annual checks etc. Not used on any other project. And then it became mine. Now it is time to let someone else give it love. Recently Function tested only from battery. Batteries not included. Play , rewind, ff , record ,etc. In very good working order but may need servicing to give best results. Heads in excellent condition. Pinch roller OK, no hardening but may respond to rejuvenation. I no longer have the means to do this.. Clean battery box. Lid in Good used condition. 2 minor cracks. no chips etc. NO noticeable dents scratches etc on body or panels. ( not checked with a magnifier but really good to the naked eye.) NO rust or corrosion inside and out. NO power pack. I only ever used this with batteries which were always removed afterwards. I have lost the original user manual and invoices. I will send a PDF of the manual to you after the sale. Leather case shows lots of signs of wear and has separated at some glued seams due to age. Leather carry strap loop has pulled out on one side . Loop still present. Needs new rivets. Carry strap large threaded nuts are available on eBay, not original part of unit. The leather protective case has done its job very well. I have not attempted repair of leather. New owner can find an expert leather worker if you want or leave this magnificent piece out for display. Plenty of photos to demonstrate condition. Speed is accurate, no hisses , crackling pops etc. please note the output potentiometer crackles only when turned.. this will probably clear with lots of uses.
