Battery terminals are cleaned to remove oxide or corrosion if present. Contact pads under the keypad buttons are cleaned as is the circuit board using a solvent to remove any contamination which may affect long-term use. The remote is then reassembled and tested to ensure full functionality. NOTES ON HYGIENE! If you think the above cleaning process is overkill, just Google remote control germs and youll see what I deal with and you can avoid. Prior to dispatch each remote is again tested and the case sealed with an individually numbered sticker. Sadly, this is necessary as my experience in the repair trade revealed a small minority of customers who would claim the device didnt work but then attempted to get a refund by returning their broken one! This does however allow me to identify remotes Ive sold and swiftly deal with any problems and offer a 30 day return (excluding p & p) if there is a defect and the seal is intact. This also gives it an unusual characteristic compared to traditional amplifiers when measuring its continuous output power; the RMS output power remains the same at 35 Watts with either an eight or a four ohms load. This is not unusual for NAD however.NAD takes a stance to the mindless brochure power approach which doesnt give a realistic indication of an amplifiers true capabilities.Instead, the ISC topology is a practical approach to enable an amplifier to easily deal with dynamics and difficult loads. More meaningful are theC740s dynamic capabilities; up to 140 Watts into 2 ohms and up to 30amps current capability!DesignThe traditional but still very valid and useful NAD features such as SoftClipping and Pre-out/Main-ins remain, and all the in- and output sockets are gold plated for long-term contact reliability.Other design features include the generous power supply with over-rated output devices further lead to low noise and low distortion for the entire amplifier.
