Excellent sounding CD player in great cosmetic condition. Powers on fine. However, struggles to load. Possible belt problem or weak motor. Apparently a common, and fixable, problem. I dont really know what Im doing, but if you do, and you want to get a great CD player at a cheap price, heres your chance. This model was until recently the flagship mid-market model from NAD, top quality sound, great reviews, feature rich.Has all the usual functions, plus repeat , random play, HDCD playback for crystal clear musical reproduction.Analog and digital outputs. This example is in fab condition, nice clear display, no major marks - except that the previous owner has drilled a small neat hole in the lid.I can only assume this was done so he could tell if the cd was spinning from above, as when it came to me it wasnt working properly - it needed the tray belt replacing to get the laser sled in position correctly.It is now working perfectly and sounding superb. I have sealed the hole with a piece of plastic tape internally to prevent any dust or moisture ingress.Plays CD roms (home recorded cds).No remote included, so offered at a bargain price for a class-leading cd player.

NAD has been at the forefront of affordable, great sounding H-Fi since it was formed in the 1970s. This CD player comes from a long line of highly rated machines and it won many awards in its day. For those interested, it uses a Texas Instruments Burr Brown delta-sigma DAC. This creates the typical NAD sound which is beautifully clean and clear whilst at the same time having a warmth rarely associated with digital playback. If youre used to listening to Spotify, the fulness and power of this little CD player will be a revelation. Within the range, this CD player sits above the entry level C521 models and the sophistication of the sound is a step above these players. If you happen to have any HDCDs, then you’ll be in for a real treat with this player. This is a specialist format which shouldn’t be confused with SACD. This one is in excellent original condition considering its age. I have given a thorough clean inside and out before giving it a full service including cleaning and deoxiting all of the micro-switches, lubricating the mechanisms and replacing the laser and drive belt for the draw mechanism. This machine has also had the laser control chip replaced. Not a common failing but once in a blue moon this can be a cause of skipping. It now moves effortlessly between tracks and plays beautifully. It’s a rare machine amongst the many NAD CD players on this platform, made more so by its complete service. NAD makes a remote control for the CD player, however, I DO NOT have one for this player. It will be shipped in a new, double wall cardboard box via ParcelForce to a UK home address only please. ParcelForce are more reliable than the usual eBay couriers however, if it arrives in anything other than the condition I have described, please contact me immediately. I will require photographic evidence of the box and CD player before issuing a refund as I cannot make a claim against the courier without it.
