NAD 2200 Stereo Power Envelope Amplifier - Very Nice!!!No combined shipping on this item! Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Up for your consideration is this NAD 2200 Stereo Power Envelope Amplifier. It is clean and tested. There are some light scratches on the face as seen in the photos. Both channels work. Speakers were used and work perfectly with the amp. I’ve owned this one over 15 years and it is still in very nice condition, with only very minor cosmetic wear/scratches on the front plate - detailed in pictures. Works and sounds great. I’ve done some light cleaning, the pots and switches - the volume control is smooth and quiet. Despite its conventional appearance, the NAD 2200 is radically different from other stereo power amplifiers in its design and performance, some aspects of which border on the spectacular. It carries a relatively moderate power rating of 100 watts per channel into 8-ohm loads from 20 to 20,000 Hz with no more than 0.03 percent distortion. In size, weight, and price, it is similar to a number of other good 100-watt amplifiers. Not surprisingly, it follows the NAD tradition of giving its amplifiers conservative power ratings and the ability to drive low-impedance speaker loads without difficulty (the clipping power output is specified as 140 watts into 8 ohms or 200 watts into 4 ohms). The 2200 also features NAD’s Soft Clipping circuit, which is slightly modified to come into play only about 0.5 dB before the amplifier is about to clip. The circuit rounds the abrupt waveform edges that normally accompany clipping, thereby removing the high-order harmonics that sound so harsh and can also damage a tweeter—no small consideration for an amplifier as powerful as this one. The 2200’s front-panel overload light is activated by a circuit that senses when audible clipping is about to occur. The NAD 2200 measures 16-1/2 inches wide, 14-3/4 inches deep (including the rear-panel connectors), and 4-7/8 inches high. It is finished in dark gray and weighs 29 pounds. NAD C272 is another of the great line of NAD products that have offered high performance for the dollar. It is conservatively rated at 150w/channel, and was highly rated when introduced. See https://www.stereophile.com/integratedamps/1006nad/index.html. This was my go-to amp for tough-to-drive speakers, like my Martin Logan CLSs. Ive switched to more efficient speakers since Ive moved in with my (now) wife, so no longer need this power. Im replacing it with the NAD 3050. The amp has several places where the anodized black has been scuffed off - Ive tried hard to show these to be fair. Id rate this amp as a 7 cosmetically, and it is fully functional. Does not ship in original boxes - but Ill pack it well.
