Offered is a vintage NAD 7120 stereo receiver (made in Japan) in excellent cosmetic condition and fully tested. This was a very compact, modest entry level offering rated a nominal (and very conservative) 20 wpc into 8 ohm speakers. Cosmetically there are very few blemishes, mostly some very light scuffs which show up because of the bright camera flash. In typical lighting they can only be seen under close inspection. The LED display is still clear and bright. Service Notes: 1. Minor interior and exterior dust brushed and blown out. 2. Exterior surfaces cleaned. 3. Pots treated with Deoxit (they were just a bit scratchy). 5. Amplifier bias and offset adjusted slightly to values well within those recommended in the service manual 6. The amplifier output clips at just over 17 V_rms (at 1kHz) so, in principle, the amplifier should output up to 36 watts per channel (into an 8 ohm load). Running the receiver at or near this power for extended periods is not recommended. 7. All inputs/outputs checked. Operating notes: 1. Plugging in a headphone jack disables the speaker outputs at the back. 2. This receiver does not include an FM mute feature. 3. There is a slight speaker thump when turning on this receiver. Many web pages note this attribute as a common occurrence in NAD receivers from this era. Of course one can use a headphone jack (see item 1) to prevent this from happening when turning on the receiver or use the included switch box (see item 4)4. This receiver only has connectors for a single set of speakers. Thus, for two or more pairs one can use the included passive HTS4 speaker switch box. Setting this to an open connector pair, when turning on the receiver, will also allow one to avoid the cited speaker thump. This item comes with a 30 day return; buyer pays return shipping. The lid is scratched but I believe may be able to polish out? Needs new stylus. Belt is intact but would recommend replacing. The know has a piece of plastic missing from the front it would appear.
