Description
For Sale are my much loved and well looked after M-Audio BX-8 D2’s. I have owned them for five years from new, and in my honest opinion they truly sound like audio monitors double the price (and I’ve heard Yamaha’s Mackie and others) and these sound just as good as those as far as my discerning ears can hear. The only reason I am selling the monitor speakers is because I have recently moved and I can’t crank up the volume to their full potential without upsetting the neighbours! That said, I still rarely turned them up to their full reach to respect others and because of this the BassCones feel are as tight as a drum and are just as good as when they left the factory. The fact theres are 8 drivers really makes the difference over smaller ones! If you are not familiar with the reputation of this series of monitor, if you look them up you will find they have won multiple awards for many years due to the accurate sound, build and reliability. This particular model is not sold anymore BUT, the difference between mine and the current line is virtually nil! These speakers are Self-Power (active) and have Gain on the back and can be used as Regular Speakers too, so they need to be plugged into the Mains and have Line Level Inputs and XLR Balanced Inputs, and they come with adapters to suit all applications. If you are a musician or studio engineer you will know this anyway, it’s just that I’m advertising these in the Hi-Fi section due to their versatility to cover all bases. As I greatly value my reputation and 100% feedback from eBay and have never mislead anyone, I’m always completely transparent and I would mention that they are not totally immaculate on the sides. They were stored on top of my wardrobe when I decided to get slightly smaller monitors and they have very light scuff marks. But the faces are perfect as I’m very particular in keeping my own equipment in the best possible condition. In fact, the light marks don’t even show up on my camera phone, and with the naked eye, all that can be seen aret wo slight imperfections that look like small dust marks. I don’t think that even a perfectionist would mind them at this price point plus a bit of polish makes them look mint. Also, I’ve never smoked around them or have any pets and keep my studio spotless. Another point I would mention is that people misunderstand that these monitors and many others on the market have a very low volume hum,or I would say an ‘ambient buzz’ which is inherent in the production of this model. This is discussed in depth on the M-Audio Forum who also maintains it is not a fault. Also, most studiofiles are aware of this point and trade it off as acceptable, because you get a very accurate and clean sounding set of monitors. To give an idea of how insignificant the volume and noticeability is of this quirk is, most gaming PC’s on idle would be louder. If you understand these points, to my mind, buying these is a no-brainer! If you’re not familiar with them and want an understanding of their sound – they are a little intimidating considering how much ‘bang for your buck’ you get. Saying they are LOUD is an understatement! Plus, the songs I have mastered on them translate well to all the other systems I and others have listened to. Ive also made other artists a little green when comparing price to performance tests lol. The price I’m asking for these and the condition they are in, no one buying them would have any problems selling them on if they changed their mind, so this is a ‘no risk’ chance of finding a ‘gem’. I just want to see them go to someone of discerning taste and frees up resources for myself. If you have any questions message me fast, as I have no doubt, they will get snapped up quickly. One last thing to reassure these are legit, I have taken photos of the very rigid boxes that took some effort to source to insure they arrive to you the exactly condition I have kept them in. A lot of effort has gone into this sale so click buy now and relax as I got all angles covered.Features· Bi-amplified design with 130 watts of distributed power for cohesive, accurate sound· 8” low-frequency drivers with Kevlar cones for rich, defined lows· 1-1/4” high-frequency drivers with natural silk domes and integrated wave guides for smooth, clear highs· Optimized rear ports for extended low-frequency response· Magnetic shielding eliminates interference with other electronic equipment· XLR balanced and 1/4” balanced/unbalanced inputs for connecting mixers, amplifiers, instruments, DJ gear, and more· Volume control· Includes two isolation padsSpecifications· Frequency Response: 38Hz-22kHz· Crossover Frequency: 2.2 kHz· Low-Frequency Amplifier Power: 70 watts· High-Frequency Amplifier Power: 60 watts· Maximum Signal-To-Noise (Dynamic Range): > 100 dB (typical A-weighted)· Polarity: Positive signal at + input produce outward LF cone displacement· Input Impedance: 20 k ohms balanced, 10 k ohms unbalanced· Input Sensitivity: 85 mV pink noise input produces 90 dBA output SPL atone meter with volume control at maximum· Power: Factory programmed for either 115V ~50/60 Hz or 230V ~50/60 Hz· Protection: RF interference, output current limiting, over temperature,turn-on/off transient, subsonic filter, external mains fuse· Cabinet: Vinyl-laminated MDF· Size: 12” x 10” x 15”; 30.48cm x 25.4cm x 38.1cm
