This capable little woofer was possibly used in some other Mirage speakers, but buyer is responsible for making that determination. So, please see the large photos I’ve taken, and read the remaining description text, to decide if this Mirage mid/bass woofer is correct for your intended application.*Although the listing is written in singular to avoid any confusion, three (3) Mirage AVS-series woofers are available for purchase at time of this writing. This driver is in clean, excellent condition. The sturdy poly cone is flawless as is the large textile voice coil dustcap. And, the surround is foam, but has been factory poly-coated for longevity; it may last indefinitely. Plus, the black-anodized steel basket is in terrific shape with no scratches or dings and the anodized bell covering the video-shielded magnet structure also looks great with minimal oxidation. Also, the +/- terminals are keyed for polarity and have never been soldered on the spades. All-in-all, this driver is very nicely preserved. More importantly, it’s been fully tested and sounds outstanding—very strong and detailed with fast, clear midrange that goes deep into treble and good low-end for the platform size. Plus, I tested the DC resistance right at 3.5-3.7?, consistent with a nominal 4 ohm driver rating. Lastly, the basket measures 3½” across (3?” from corners), it stands about 2?” tall, and the mounting holes are spaced 2¾” adjacent / 3?” diagonal, c-t-c. This is a great find for someone that has a blown 3½” driver in their AVS-200, AVS-100 or other suitable Mirage (and maybe Energy) model—your speaker will be sounding its finest once again in no time! This tweeter is in clean, excellent condition. The hard plastic faceplate is in perfect shape with no scratches or cracks. Plus, the radiating surface is dimple-free flawless having been well-protected in the sunken recess. Lastly, the +/- terminals are keyed for polarity (larger red spade is pos.) and the spades have never been soldered. Overall, this Mirage AVS tweeter looks practically new! I tested it recently and the sound is perfect—clear, detailed, and sparkly highs with its 20kHz upper frequency limit. Plus, I tested its DC resistance at 6.5-6.6?, right in line with a nominal 8 ohm driver rating. And, it measures 2¾” at its widest x 2” high, stands about ¾” tall, and the mount holes are spaced 2?” long way / 1?” short way / 2 9/16” on the diagonal apart, c-t-c. If you have a blown or damaged tweeter in your Mirage AVS 200 satellite, 100 center channel, or other suitable model, you’ve found the right listing—your speaker will be sounding its best again in no time! It’s made of black rubbery plastic and measures a diminutive 13/16” at widest x 7/16” at tallest. Aside from a few practically invisible marks with how small this is, no structural or finish flaws were noted. The back side does have a bit of adhesive residue, but you’ll want to use a dab of contact cement or other strong adhesive when mounting since they do seem to go missing with some frequency. As pictured and described, this small Mirage speaker emblem is offered at a reasonable price.
