Description
Micro Seiki DD-7 Turntable This 70s turntable was made in Japan. It was also exported as the DD-40. It is an unusual and collectible turntable due to its early adoption of direct drive, and design. Here are some standout features: The platter is surrounded by a glass rim that is exposed to a strobe light, so that you can make adjustments to rotation speedThe dust cover hangs outside of the cabinet, which protects 100% of the cabinet surface from dust and debris. It also looks very uniqueThe MA-505 tonearm is fantastic, with: A tungsten wire that controls both the downforce and the anti-skate at the same timeIncredible tracking of the record; truly a professional tonearm that is considerably better than the vast majority of those found on modern or average turntablesAbility to handle a wide range of cartridges. For example, many tonearms dont do well with light downforces, and the 505 handles them with ease (eg. 1.0 grams) Ive owned this one for about 5 years. Since I have two of them, I have to make room by selling one. This turntable is in Very Good to Excellent cosmetic condition. The dust cover is Near Mint. Ive posted a lot of pictures; please take a good look for evaluating condition. Send me a message if you are interested in the same model that is fitted with a Victor UA-7045 (professional) tonearm. I will consider selling that one instead of this one at the same price. Other notes:Listing does NOT include a cartridge. If you need one, I have a few available in a range of pricing. Please let me know after purchase if you want to buy a cartridge from me. Upon request, I will mount it on the tonearm for no charge. This unit operates on 100V. While many people will run these at USA voltage (115-120V), I prefer not to, and use a Japan voltage converter. These are inexpensive and available on eBay or Amazon. This turntable has speed adjustment controls. 33 works great, but 45 plays a bit fast and is finicky to adjust. Since I never play 45s, it has not been a problem for me but needs to be mentioned. This particular unit has a deep and beautiful finish. It is really gorgeous. If you look at other listings for this model, youll see that many of them are drab, uninteresting, or have a faded look. Over the years, I have bought and sold about 15 of these, and this one is the most beautiful of them all. Item will be well packed and double-boxed. International buyers are welcome as long as your country is listed for eBay international shipping.
