Reluctantly streamlining and downsizing my system, really sorry to see it go but I now only use this as a transport so the super onboard DAC is going to waste! It shares the same servo and laser as the 500 and 508 models. The transport is extremely strong, the whole tray comes out and is very solid. Its in superb condition from smoke-free home. It was serviced, re-capped and new laser fitted by Russ Phillips (Mr Tech Guy https://www.mrtechguy.co.uk/ ) in 2021, receipt supplied. Gorgeous sound and very highly regarded high-end CD player. Comes in its original box with manuals, receipts and Meridian System Remote and a MCRU hifi power lead. It shares its minimalistic design with all the 500 series, the only difference being the colour of the on-off strip. It cost me £1,195 new in 2000 and a further £420 on the full service with laser replacement and re-capping. MERIDIAN 206 SUPERB SOUNDING COMPACT DISC CD PLAYER. A total classic player! Separation, clarity, soundstage, and perfect bass delivery make this the iconic CD player it is. Very much underused over the last 5 years as my vinyl collection has grown exponentially!!! I have dug out my CD collection thats been in storage as I dont have the space, and it really has curtailed my streaming time. Works absolutely perfect and plays seamlessly. I love it but must part as funds needed. No remote, just cant find it anywhere! Paired up with the Naim amps I am also selling, and you have a fantastic system!!! This remote, booklets and bag was part of a G series CD player that got sold after my father passed 2017.  These items got missed and have just been found in a box.  The remote hasn't been tested but there is no reason why it should not work as it did in 2017.  Serial Number: MSR 105535. This was for a G Series Meridian CD player but in the manuals it states this remote can be used with a Meridian 200 and 600 products.  Please see photographs that mention this information.  Thank you for looking at my listing. 

This Meridian Signature Reference 808.2 CD Player was received by us as a part exchange from a longstanding customer of ours. It is in excellent condition and only has a few minor marks and cosmetic scratches (see photos for more). The previous customer has included FOC a brand new spare laser mechanism in the box should its new owner ever need to change it!It comes in its original box with remote control, power cable and manual. Here is a brief description from the original customer Once hailed as “the world’s best CD player” I never completely took to it, although I adored the Meridian 508.24 I’d owned previously. I always thought it was far too big, I didn’t really like the design, I hated the plasticky CD tray and I immediately regretted not having bought the 808i version, which had separate pre-amp controls and would have allowed me to input digital and use the unit as a separate DAC. It does sound good, though - very good indeed - and somebody with a large legacy library of CDs will want it. It was factory upgraded by Meridian to the v.2 version (paperwork’s in the box) and a new purchaser can take comfort from the brand new spare laser mechanism I’ve also put into the box. The supplier of the laser also provides a fitting service if it’s ever needed (paperwork in the laser box). This was bought by me as a future-proofing precaution but it’s never been needed.
