This is a Meridian 506 CD player that we are selling AS IS. It is untested, but looks to be in very good condition. The reason it hasn’t been tested is because the power plug is missing. It looks to be a typical C13 power cord and those are pretty easy to come by. We will happily update the description if we are able to find the cable and properly test it.

A Meridian 206 Compact disc player, with remote control handset and instruction manual.

Here I have a Meridian 506 16 bit CD player. I have owned this unit approximately 20 years and I believe it was manufactured around 1993. It is in excellent condition externally, is extremely well built with robust CD transport system and has been in regular use up until recently. However, it has never played ‘home-burn’ CDs (probably not designed to) and will not play or is reluctant to play (needs one or more attempts) some older and cheaper brand (e.g. Naxos) CDs, since it cannot read CD table of contents (‘toc’ displays). More up to date CDs mostly play OK, with excellent sound. I would therefore ask that if you do bid on it, you should do so in the knowledge of these issues, albeit it has always been like this and does not seem to have deteriorated. There is no remote control.
