I feel the McIntosh C 26, of the early generation solid state preamplifiers, is one of the nicest in terms of control layout and visual appearance. To learn about the development of the McIntosh C 26, look up Roger Russell on the internet. Roger Russell was the program lead and head engineer of the C 26 and presents interesting details during the design process of this preamplifier that began a long history of McIntosh solid state products. This C 26 is rock solid dependable and has given me great pleasure for the past 6 years. I should add that this C 26 is 98 percent original, in that it has NOT been “re-capped” with new modern electrolytic capacitors. Notations on circuit boards do indicate some minor service was performed during the past 40 years. Visual inspection indicates no “modifications” have been performed to the original factory build. This listing includes the following items:- McIntosh C 26 Solid State Preamplifier, SN AG5322.- Original C 26 Owner’s Manual (not pictured).- C 26 Service Information (not pictured). Photos are of the actual item listed. Condition:- This all-original McIntosh C 26 is truly Mint.- All controls function perfectly with zero noise.- Very minor glass flaw at the headphone jack.- External case is spotless.- No rust or corrosion anywhere.
