Die frühen McIntosh-Verstärker haben allesamt einen sehr guten Ruf als zuverlässige und gut klingende Verstärker erworben. McIntosh setzte frühzeitig bei einem Transistor Ausgangsübertrager ein, um die Endstufe von jeder Rückwirkung eines angeschlossenen Lautsprecherpaars abzukoppeln. Es gibt nahezu keine Lautsprecher, die der McIntosh nicht treiben kann. Dieses Exemplar von 1975 ist für den internationalen Markt ausgeliefert worden, wie man an dem Schalter zur Umschaltung der Netzspannung sehen kann, es ist also kein US-Reimport.
