McIntosh C40 Audio Control Center Preamplifier AC100VDescriptionFeatures and Remarks In the mechanical part, all signal switches use a reed relay system with digital logic control. Sealed in a glass tube, these relays have low distortion and are insulated from the atmosphere, providing excellent long-term reliability. The 5 band equalizer provides ±12dB of boost and cut at 30 Hz, 150 Hz, 500 Hz, 1.5 kHz and 10 kHz. The center click position bypasses the entire equalizer circuit, providing accurate flat response. The compander system is available in expansion and compression modes, allowing the dynamic range of the source to be arbitrarily compensated. It also includes an active loudness control that can be adjusted independently of the master volume.
