Vintage Mayfair #1677 Tape Recorder-NOT COMPLETELY WORKING. One battery compartments wire came off. Was able to splice extension wire and keep in place with electrical tape. When you hit PLAY, the battery indicator goes up, so it is drawing power from the batteries. The spindles dont spin. Motor issue? Above my pay grade. Restore to working condition or use for parts. Got it working with 7 Reels (not included) but it will still need some TLC. Needs a new pinch roller (cracked with age) and a few belts. Heads and speakers are in good shape as is the microphone I tested the recording with. Head cover plate is missing as well as the volume control knob. Sold as-is for parts or repair. Made in Japan.
