Background:?In February 2021, from an audio specialty store that requested repair,?The left side LINE module was reported to be shorted. After that, it was stored unused. When the item was put up for sale, we asked the audio specialty store to inspect it again and found the same problem as before.?The left-side LINE module was reported to be short-circuited as before. There are 5 modules in total Power module: 1 module normal2 LINE modules, right side module normal??????????(Left side joule short)PHONO module: 2 modules normal (both modules shorted) Test: For reference, the operation was tested as follows. The test was performed with the defective left-side LINE module (short) disconnected. When the power supply unit is connected and energized, the energizing lamp lights up,??The power light came on when the power supply unit was connected and energized, and we confirmed that the source of each input was transmitted through the power amplifier and sound was output from the right speaker.??We confirmed that each input source was connected to the power amplifier and that sound was coming out of the right-side speaker normally. 2.When the right side LINE module was replaced to the left side, we confirmed that the sound was coming out from the left side normally.??We confirmed that sound comes out normally from the left side. 3. 3. both PHONO and LINE inputs were tested, and after repeating the operation described in 2.??We confirmed that the left and right inputs sounded normal after repeating the above test. Serial #3320 / #1861 Just Restored and Fully Tested by Morts Stereo in Levittown PA (a renowned High-End Audio & Video repair firm) with a warranty. See sticker in photo. The ML-1 is completely black anodized with white lacquer-filled engravings, it has a timeless appearance due to a slimline visual footprint and symmetrical control layout. When it was introduced in 1977 it was considered to be the best solid state preamp available on the market. Until then it was thought that this sound quality was only possible with tubes. The sound is clean and precise, but at the same time musical and smooth. It clearly outperformed all competing solid state offerings at that time. The sound quality is rivaled today only by new much more expensive gear. The phono section is still one of the smoothest regardless of cost. You will not be disappointed with this items performance.
