Some of the work done was power supply ,laser, new motor and belt and new display chip recalibration as well. I have the receipts to prove it. So, parts were actually upgraded to even better quality than the originals. He personally is an audiophile and put this up against $10,000 CD players. When I received it, I personally put it up against my PS audio direct stream DAC .($6000), and although there were some differences, I find it was mostly character of the player itself. You will find it being very extremely smooth,articulate, and with very warm no digital edge on a good sounding system.
