The jack may be loose, but functions 100% as it should, with no interference. I would recommend using XLR cables for superior balanced performance, but RCA cables work just fine. So, parts were actually upgraded to even better quality than the originals. He personally is an audiophile and put this up against $10,000 CD players. When I received it, I personally put it up against my PS audio direct stream DAC .($6000), and although there were some differences, I find it was mostly character of the player itself. You will find it being very extremely smooth,articulate, and with very warm no digital edge on a good sounding system. This is about as good as it’s gonna get especially when you pop in a super audio cd . Price reflects the quality. You’ll find this will probably be the last CD player you will own!
