Marantz has long been one of the most respected names in high-end hi-fi gear, a reputation it earned by never standing still and always striving to improve its products - so when it was announced that an update on the excellent PM6002 amplifier was on the way, audiophiles knew it was going to be something special. Free economy delivery within the UK!Worldwide shipping available The update, known as the PM6003, arrived in 2009 and it didnt disappoint: Marantz had kept the all-metal chassis but extensively modernised the facia by adding some pleasingly tactile curves (while wisely keeping the uncluttered, purposeful looks). More importantly, it got an all-new power supply featuring a toroidal design with improved system block shielding to cut interference, new and more powerful transistors and a newly-designed extruded aluminium heatsink to keep them cool and reduce resonance and a new type of capacitor, all of it tuned for maximum performance. The result is... well, if youve heard a PM6003 in action, youll already know. The PM6003 is not a ridiculously loud amp (even into 4? its not going to cause major structural damage to your house foundations, though its more than enough for any home system) because the emphasis here is on audio quality - which is never anything less than outstanding throughout the entire range from the deep, rich, distinct bass all the way through the warm and perfect resolution mid-range and right up to the sharp treble. Even playing seriously bass-heavy tunes at high volume (we gave it a blast with Leftfields Storm 3000) theres no murkiness at all, nor even a trace of distortion, and the same is true at the high end (we switched to A Final Hit for that high-pitched whine, and because we were in a Leftfieldish mood) and every note cuts through the bass so as to be resonant and clearly defined. This example has been used, but has also been very well cared-for - there are almost no cosmetic faults at all with only a handful of light scratches that only reveal themselves on close inspection and with the light falling on them from exactly the right angle, and all the controls (including the remote control) do exactly what they should, smoothly and without crackle. Most importantly, its in full working order - extensive testing revealed no faults at all. As with all the mains-powered electrical items we sell, its been professionally PAT-tested and certified safe to use when connected to the UK mains supply; it is supplied with a UK-type mains cable, original remote control (with batteries), owners manual and the high grade speaker cables as seen in the final photograph. Programmes are practical, holistic and tailored to the individual patient, family member or carer and may also include rehabilitative support, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and psychological support. It will cost £10.5 million in 2021/2022 to run services, which are provided free of charge to patients and their loved ones. Contracted services from the NHS are budgeted at £6.98 million, meaning that £3.52 million needs to be raised through donations, fundraising activities and trading.
