marantz PM-12 OSE Integrated Amplifier The 12 OSE series is a dedicated model for the Japanese market, which is one of the worlds leading premium Hi-Fi audio markets, with many users who have a deep knowledge of audio and music. By drawing out the full potential of the 12 series, the base model, we hope that you will be able to experience even greater musicality. The PM-12 uses a switching amplifier to downsize the power amplifier circuit and heat sink, which used to take up a lot of space in conventional analog amplifiers, making it possible to use an unprecedented amount of space for the preamplifier in this class of integrated amplifier. Making the most of this space, we designed the circuit and selected parts with the highest priority on sound quality, and developed a new single-stage preamplifier circuit that combines a JFET input and a DC servo circuit with a current feedback amplifier that uses Marantzs original high-speed amplifier module HDAM®-SA3. While refining the well-established richness of information and high-speed sound, the number of coupling capacitors used has been reduced, greatly improving the resolution and clarity of the audio signal. A dedicated power supply circuit for the preamp enables a stable power supply that is not affected by fluctuations in power consumption by the power amplifier. A high-capacity toroidal core transformer is installed exclusively for the preamplifier for high-purity power supply. A double shield with a silicon steel plate and a steel case is applied to the outer periphery of the transformer to suppress the adverse effect on the peripheral circuit due to leakage magnetic flux.
