Lovingly used and enjoyed for a few years, I am selling my home theaters heart and brain as I try out another brand. I kept this unit operating in a temperature-controlled, nearly dust-free environment. Please read everything below for the good and for considerations before buying/bidding. THE GOODAll processing and video output and audio output functions work flawlessly. With appropriate amplification, speakers, and display hardware, this will make your content look and sound amazing!Cosmetics are nearly like-new. The pictures make smudges or any potential cosmetic defects look a lot worse than what you see in-person. Any smudges or defects in the pictures are fingerprints or dust that the camera captures better than the human eye.Comes with all retail accessories. I only used the microphone, remote control, and WiFi/Bluetooth antennas. As you can see from the picture, all other accessories were unused and are therefore like new!No need to purchase any surround sound formats: All Dolby Atmos and Surround formats, DTS:X and Neural X, Auro-3D and Auro-2D formats, IMAX Enhanced are included!Audyssey MultEQ-X is built in to this unit**. Alternatively, you can manually calibrate to an extent with a built-in graphic equalizer.Per the last pictures, this will come in retail packaging. So my disclaimer is: while I expect the port hole display to work for you (since its obviously working in the pictures I just took for this auction,) I cannot 100% guarantee the small port-hole displays long-term function and I will therefore not consider any returns/refunds for this specific defect. (I dont think its a big deal since I prefer it off, but I wanted you to be aware in case you care about the small port hole text display.) This is the ONLY potential functional defect with this unit; absolutely everything else works perfectly.As I mentioned in the beginning of this description, I used an active cooling system when this unit was operating; even though this is a processor without loudspeaker amplification, it can still get kind of hot! Therefore I strongly recommend that you either keep this unit on open shelving, and/or that you also use an active fan- or other cooling system in order to keep this unit running smoothly for a long time.This is the version of the AV8805 with HDMI 2.0b inputs and outputs. Regarding video content, it can therefore handle all HDR formats (Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HDR10+, HGIG) and 4k UHD up to 60Hz. But it will likely not pass through higher bandwidth content that requires HDMI 2.1, which is only high-end gaming (Playstation 5, latest XBox, or super high-end PC games.) So unless youre an avid video gamer, this wont matter; this unit will perfectly handle all of the latest movie/TV/streaming video and audio content from any source (e.g. 4k UHD BluRay Players, Nvidia Shield, Apple TV 4k, cable set top box, Kaleidescape, etc.)**While Audyssey is built in to the processor and can be used with just the included hardware in this auction, you can also purchase the Audyssey mobile app and/or PC software to enhance your control of the Audyssey room correction results. You would make these purchases on your own at your discretion, outside of this auction and Ebay. FYI: the mobile app is around $20 (I used it and recommend it for the few critical functions it offers that the built-in software doesnt,) and the PC software is around $200 I think. (I never purchased the PC software, but if you know what youre doing, its supposed to be awesome; supposedly you can get results close to DIRAC or Anthem ARC if you tweak the settings and play with the software enough. Original owner. Purchased as 8805 and then purchased 8k upgrade kit and sent in to United Audio for installation. Have never had any issues with the unit. Used sparingly in a dedicated home theater room. Great condition. No scratches or dents that I can find. Always used with a trigger controlled fan on top (Not included) .
