For sale is my Marantz 2500 receiver in all original, functional condition. If you read this, you probably know what this is. I have to say only this: In contrast to other top-of-the-line monster receivers of the 70s from the likes of Sony, Pioneer, Sansui, Kenwood, Onkyo, or McIntosh, Marantz did not cut corners with the 2500 and 2600 models and integrated its best top-of-each-line tuner, preamp and power amplifier components into a truly high fidelity receiver, which is not only very powerful, but also musical, dynamic and great to look at. A true statement piece and status symbol with a matching price tag of $1595.0 in 1978 ($7400.0 today after inflation adjustment). Specs: RMS power per channel - 250w@8 ohm and 330w@ 4 ohm; THD 0.05%; Damping Factor 60 at 20 Hz; Power bandwidth 20Hz to 20 kHz. Ownership History: I am the second owner and purchased it in 2006 from the original owner. After my purchase I checked all functions and put it in storage, where it has been ever since. Price is firm, but I am open to reasonable offers. I prefer free local pick-up over shipping, which will be expensive due to weight and special packaging.
