Thank you for looking at this item.This listing is for a LUXMAN AT-3000 type transformer type line attenuator controller LUXMAN (management (management NO.183) (used)) using the ultimate handmade transformer.I got this for comparison with a passive type attenuator, but the transformer type attenuator gives a glossy sound and makes music sound more attractive.Transformer type attenuators are rarely made nowadays, and some of them, such as Phase Tech and foreign brands, cost several million dollars. The transformer type attenuator seems to have such a superiority.The sound is more dense, glossy, and fascinating than the original Luxman.The following is a list of transformer type attenuators from various manufacturers, but the basic specifications and sound quality tendencies are similar, so please refer to them.Here is the Luxman AT3000.This is a line controller that uses a 23-step transformer type attenuator for level control.Generally, attenuators use attenuation characteristics by resistors. Considering that the DC resistance component entering in series with the signal line in this case affects the sound quality, the AT-3000 has a newly developed line signal transformer for the attenuator.Twenty-three steps are taken from the transformers secondary winding, and each level is switched by a high-precision rotary switch, thereby completely eliminating resistive elements and minimizing DC resistance.The transformer for the attenuator is made of 0.2mm nickel super Permalloy in a multi-layer structure based on many prototypes and listening tests. In addition, the city introduced its own know-how on how to extract the intermediate taps on the windings, etc., to realize a transformer for line signals with high purity.The transformer is mounted with an attachment made of maple wood, which is magnetically hollow but mechanically supports the transformer.
