Mehr Spitzen-HiFi war zu diesem Preis damals nicht möglich. Und für die gleiche Summe in Euro wäre dieser Vollverstärker heute ein absolutes Schnäppchen. Denn viele Test-Redakteure werten den L410 immer noch als Referenz für angenehm harmonisch klingende Feinzeichnung und Hochton-Auflösung. Wer einen technisch und optisch einwandfreien L410 besitzt, der weiß ihn zu schätzen und mag ihn nicht wieder abgeben. Denn die ausgeklügelte Luxman-Mechanik arbeitet überwiegend zuverlässig. Aber einzelne Baugruppen erweisen sich nach mehr als 20 Jahren als störanfällig. Schalter, Regler, Kondensatoren und Lötstellen unterliegen dem natürlichen Verschleiß – vor allem auch dann, wenn das Gerät überhaupt nicht oder nur wenig betrieben wird. Als Luxman-typische Schwachstelle ist vor allem bekannt: Die Netzteil-Elkos verlieren ihr Elektrolyt. Diese Flüssigkeit verursacht einen Kurzschluss und verätzt die Platine. Deshalb werden heute nur noch wenige Geräte in komplett gebrauchsfähigem Zustand angeboten. Weitere Ausfallerscheinungen bei diesem hochsensiblen Verstärker sind: Die Beleuchtung am Volumenregler erlischt, beim Umschalten der Quellen setzt schon mal ein Kanal aus, und vor allem der empfindliche Phonoeingang schaltet nicht mehr „sauber“ durch und verzerrt. Spätestens wenn sich ein L-410 während des laufenden Betriebs immer wieder von selbst ausschaltet, benötigt dieser HiFi-Klassiker mehr als nur eine kleine Nachbesserung.
