Linn LP12 Inner Platter & Pre Cirkus Bearing Kit. Used

You are looking at my Linn LP12 main bearing and matched inner platter, with original Linn sub-chassis. They have just been removed from my LP12 as Ive upgraded to a Cirkus bearing. They are late pre-Cirkus items, in very good overall condition. The bearing and sub-platter are a matched pair and all 3 items were taken from the original LP12 they were manufactured for. The date stamp on the sub-chassis is November 1988; the Cirkus bearing was fitted as standard from 1993. The sub-chassis is epoxy glued - this mod was introduced in 1984. The bearing is a later black liner model. The deck was serviced by Cymbiosis ~6 years ago and has had ~5-600 hours of use since then. The sub-platter shaft and bearing are immaculate with no marks or corrosion. Ive always used Linn oil. Im also including a full set of springs, grommets etc, an old drive belt and various spare bolts. The springs grommets are used but in good condition. The items will come in original Linn packaging. Buying an LP12 second hand can be like swimming in sharkinfested waters. Many that appear on here have been in somebody’s loft for 30years and then somebody finds them and puts them straight on ebay! An LP12 is extremely unlikely to work and perform perfectlyafter that long in hibernation, which is why all of my turntables arecompletely stripped, cleaned, oiled/varnished/painted as required and thenrebuilt using the original Linn parts, where they are sound, or replacementparts, if they are needed. Finally, they are rebuilt on a Linn Jig and then expertlyset up and tested before being put up for sale. You may pay a little extra for one of my turntables, butin life, you generally get what you pay for. And what you are getting here is adeck that is in a condition not too unlike it left the factory and it is likelyto give you years of great service. If it doesn’t, you can come back to me. There are cheaper ones out there, certainly, but if youbuy a cheap deck, not only will you probably not experience the full, true,legendary Linn sound, but you may also end up splashing out a lot of cashputting a 40 year old deck right, if it’s had a hard life. I do offer a restoration service on these decks and thetypical cost of putting a bad deck right is usually around £500. Similarly, if you could see some of the cartridges thatcome fitted to some of the decks that I buy in, you wouldn’t risk your recordcollection on it! To make sure that your records stay safe, I have fitted anew, old stock, Linn K9 cartridge – so, you can play your cherished vinyl withconfidence. As well as every component being thoroughly checked, allof my decks are sold with fresh Linn oil, new belts, new springs, new orserviceable hinges and the suspended chassis will have been finely tuned tobounce perfectly. Naturally, they are all tested too and they won’t leavehere unless they function perfectly and sound great. Indeed, it will be allready to plug into your system and is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. I can swap the power supply to a variety of alternativesthat will give you 45 rpm capability - again just ask. I always carry healthystocks of : Lingo 1, Lingo 4, Hercules or Radikal power supplies and so weshould be able to provide what you want. I’ll even fit your own parts if you wanted to specify andsupply your own arm or cartridge. HELP BUILDING A FULL SYSTEM If you are looking to build a full system, eitherlavishly or on a budget around an LP12, I can also help you with that, eitherfrom my collection or by sourcing items for you - new or used. I can also,subject to distance and availability, deliver and install systems for anadditional cost. GETTING YOUR TURNTABLE – how come you won’t postturntables? I cannot stress enough the benefits of collecting yourturntable in person - if at all possible. If you collect in person, you can seeit, I can demonstrate the deck, you can if you wish listen to it and everythingwill be set up and ‘ready to go’ - indeed, with just a few basic deconstructsto enable you to get it home safely, you’ll be in business when you get homeinside 2 minutes. I make no apologies for choosing to not to ‘post’turntables. They regularly get damaged to some degree with standard couriersand it isn’t always easy for me to resolve issues at a distance. Let’s face it, if you’re spending this amount on aprecision instrument you owe it yourself to either pick it up or to have itsafely delivered to you. To assist, if you are within a reasonable distance, Imight be prepared to deliver it to you, meet you ‘halfway’ (or partway!) for anagreed charge. If distance / lack of transport puts collectioncompletely out of the question, I do have a couple of contacts for ‘specialist’couriers, who will for a price, collect the deck from me and deliver itstraight to you - no hubs, no depots, no mistreatment - they are more expensivethan parcelforce obviously, but I have used them very successfully to thecomplete satisfaction of all involved several times.
