I have owned these items from new, it is the Valhalla model, they were purchased in late 1987 and have been used in a pet and smoke free home. I have the original receipt for the turntable and arm as well as the Linn original turntable box. I don’t have the receipt for the cartridge. This is much newer and has plenty of mileage left, in any event I am pricing for just the turntable and arm and will ‘throw in’ this very nice MC cartridge. The plinth is a beautiful afromosia wood that looks stunning. I will also throw in a spare belt and 45rpm adapter. The Linn Sondek LP12 is perhaps the most widely reviewed turntable (and still production after 50 years) in the World. Almost every vinyl enthusiast knows it and is one of the most recognizable product in the hifi World. In its current offering, you could buy their starter LP12 - the Majik LP12 at $5,100 or their top of the line, Klimax LP12 at $31,000! Which incidentally looks like the LP12 we have for sale here at only $2,995! The turntable is a very well curated unit where its one and only previous owner ordered it (after much careful evaluation on the different options) with the Lingo external power supply, Ittok LV II tonearm and Shelter 301 MC cartridge. If you want the best Sondek LP12 from that era, this may be it. This is analog at its best for under $3,000. This LP12 will spin 33s unlike any other. If you want to understand what this recent resurgence in vinyl is all about, this is an affordable way to join the party. Put aside what you have been hearing from CDs, vinyl is all about unadulterated music. Cartridge is good but we always recommend replacing the cartridges or having one on standby since there is no way to accurately predict the hours on it. Output voltage is 0.4mV with a load impedance of 11 Ohm. What we have always loved about the LP12 is its simplicity in design. Its basically a very basic motor, a platter and an arm. Many audiophiles have gone on to mod the motor, the chassis etc to elevate its performance but for us, we love its original simplicity. Put the money on cartridges and you would be smiling from ear to ear. Cosmetically, the unit is in nice shape for its age. Some minor nicks/scuff marks from use but nothing major. Dust cover is in good shape but the previous owner lost the hinges because the turntable was placed in a book cabinet where there wasnt enough height allowance to flip the cover open so he would just slide it in when he needs to cover it. LINN LP 12 - Valhalla - Ittok LVIII - K9 - sehr gepflegter Zustand. Voll funktionsfähig - Wenig gelaufen. Der Linn ist von meinem Vater, der ihn nicht oft benutzt hat und die letzten 20 Jahre gar nicht mehr. Ich habe angeboten, diesen für ihn zu verkaufen. Der Zustand ist dementsprechend gut. Der Linn wurde ca. 1990 bei einem Linn-Händler gekauft. Der Tonarm ist der Linn Ittok LV III, also die dritte Version dieses schönen Tonarms. Das System ist das K9, aber bei dem Alter würde ich das unbedingt austauschen. Es ist alles noch im Original-Zustand mit bestens erhaltener Afromosia-Zarge, siehe Fotos. Das Pulley dreht sich, der Motor funktioniert einwandfrei. Der Plexiglas-Deckel hat natürlich seine kleinen Kratzer, ist aber in Ordnung. An der Vorderseite befinden sich Klebereste von einem Filz-Aufkleber. Die Scharniere müssen getauscht werden, das ist eine alte Linn-Krankheit. Wer hier zuschlägt sollte folgendes beachten: Sie brauchen einen neuen Tonabnehmer (oder wenigstens eine neue Nadel, es gibt eine Audio-Technica Nadel, die in den K9 Body reinpasst)Sie sollten den Riemen tauschen.Sie sollten unbedingt das Lageröl austauschen.Und der Linn muss neu justiert werden, ich empfehle sehr, das Gerät zu einem Linn-Händler in Ihrer Nähe zu bringen, der hat auch das Know-How um zu erkennen, ob evtl. die Federn des Sub-Chassis getauscht werden müssen. Ansonsten verschenken Sie sehr viel Potential des schönen Laufwerks. Und Sie haben natürlich die Option den Linn nach und nach auszubauen und ihn damit auf ein anderes klangliches Niveau zu heben. Aber das wissen Sie sicher. Wenn man nicht direkt auf das recht teure Lingo wechseln möchte, gibt es auch noch die Möglichkeit das Valhalla-Board mit einem Hercules-Board zu tauschen, eine beliebte Option in England. Die Montage kann man einfach selbst vornehmen. Man findet das Board von Hercules auch hier bei Ebay. Klingt besser, hat 45 RPM und ist deutlich günstiger als das Lingo. Ist dann aber nicht Original Linn. Sollte der Deckel genutzt werden (er verschlechtert leider den Klang, also beim Hören abnehmen), dann müssten auch die Scharniere getauscht werden. Die OVP ist nicht mehr vorhanden, aber ich garantiere den Linn sehr aufwändig zu verpacken, sodass er sicher bei Ihnen ankommt.
