The LX5 is a small loudspeaker, measuring 267x162x165mm (HxWxD) and weighing in at 3.4kg apiece. The 50x110m Linaeum dipole driver sits on top, protected by a wire mesh grille; directly underneath is a moulded plastic top plate which is affixed to a rather unglamorous, matte grey finished metal box which houses the crossover and the 130mm mid/bass driver. This uses a polypropylene cone, which was prettypasseven for the nineteen nineties, although some variants of the speaker later used Kevlar. The crossover point is 4.5kHz, and the claimed frequency response of the speaker is 85Hz to 20kHz. Nominal impedance is said to be 8 ohms, and the manufacturer stated that the power handling was 100W RMS The woofers were replaced with better ones than the original have rubber surrounds not foam for longer lasting with a little better bass response all the lithium tweeters working as the should Cabinets have some scratches but are overall in good condition

This is a great working pair of Optimus Pro LX5 bookshelf speakers, featuring famed Lineaum tweeters. Speakers are boxed and show minimal signs of use, all clearly shown in photos. Woofers have rubber surrounds that will not deteriorate like foam ones. Grills are nice and dust free. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer pair!

PAIR Optimus PRO LX5 Bookshelf Speakers Dipole Linaeum Tweeters ONE HAS NO SOUND Both speakers have been tested by myself personally, with only one of them functioning correctly. The one that does work sounds great, but the other one doesn’t have any bass coming through the woofer whatsoever. Sounds like something is wrong with the tweeter on the top of that one as well, as it is much quieter than it should be. I do not know what the issue is with the one speaker, but the pair will be sold AS-IS, no returns accepted whatsoever. Both speakers are in decent shape cosmetically, showing only some signs of age-related wear around the exterior. Mesh and metal grills are all in decent condition as well, but one of the fabric ones is missing the Optimus badge that went along the bottom. Woofers seem to be sturdy too, and don’t feel like they are deteriorating anywhere that I can see. See all pictures closely for details of condition, and specifications of the pair.
